Stephanie McMahon was in Dubai last week to attend a Women in Leadership panel and to announce WWE’s new “Wal3ooha” Arabic show set to debut later in the year. During her visit she was interviewed by The National and spoke on several subjects.
Here are some highlights:
WWE expanding it’s work and role in the Middle East:
“First of all we had our tryouts here in Dubai, and the tryout has been incredibly successful. We had nearly 40 talents trying out, representing close to 20 different countries and 10 of those who were trying out were women.
“In terms of growing our presence here in the Middle East, localisation is a huge part of that strategy and we couldn’t be more proud to take our partnership with OSN to the next level and have the opportunity to super serve our fans with localized, in language, content.”
There being two Women’s Championship matches on the card at WrestleMania 33:
“I am incredibly proud every time I watch our women perform, but I am especially proud at WrestleMania and to have those two matches, and see the performances that they all delivered, I was incredibly proud.”
Working with Kurt Angle in the future:
“I can’t wait to work with Kurt. Kurt is so entertaining. He is really funny. I think it is going to be so much and hopefully having that interaction and this time the situation is a little bit different as I am the boss.”
