It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to sit down and give my thoughts and predictions for an upcoming WWE PPV. So, without further ado, here are my predictions for this Sunday’s WWE Raw PPV; Tables, Ladders and Chairs.
TLC comes at you from Minneapolis, MN at the Target Center and will have a huge match card which features the returning Kane and the re-established Shield stable. Here are the advertised matches, along with my predictions.
Sasha Banks vs. Alicia Fox
On Raw we saw Alicia Fox go berserk after she suffered through another loss, this time at the hands of Sasha Banks. Fox would then go on a rampage backstage attacking Banks which would later lead to this match. I will admit, Fox’ crazy gimmick is entertaining at times, but when it comes to this match I see Banks coming out on top only driving Fox to go a bit more crazier then the last time. That is, if that’s possible.
MOC Predictions: Sasha Banks
Cedric Alexander & Rich Swann vs. Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher
Tag Team Match
205 Live has been on a steady rise as of late, with more storlines and feuds coming out of the roster. One in particular has been the feud with Alexander, Jack and Brian. Rich has lately been introduced and adds another good guy face to be on the same side as Alexander. But considering I’ve seen Jack and Brian pull the short straw these past few weeks, I beleive that both those men will come out on top at the PPV. Hell, you never know, maybe even Swann turns on Alexander and joins up with Brian and his crew.
MOC Prediction: Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher (Potential Swann turn)
Asuka vs. Emma
I’m not gonna spend a lot of time on this because frankly I don’t see Asuka losing IN ANY WAY! Asuka has been the most dominant female competitor in NXT, and being this is her debut to the main roster, I couldn’t see WWE position her to lose. Now, Emma and Asuka have worked in the past back in 2016, so their not so new to each other.
But in all honesty, even though this will hopefully allow Emma to showcase what she can do in that ring against an aggressive competitor I still see Asuka coming out on top to begin her reign in the women’s division on Raw.
MOC Prediction: Asuka
Enzo Amore vs. Kalisto (c)
-WWE Cruiserweight Championship-
I’ll admit, Enzo winning the CW title did in face provide more attention to the 205 Live roster. He even got them main eventing Raw a few weeks in a row. And now that Enzo has this faction growing on 205 Live, which showcases pretty much the entire heel roster members, I for sure see him re-capturing the CW title and giving him his second reign. Not to say his first one was that impressive to begin with. But, there’s a backbone to this feud and at least it’s been developed to give a reason for the fight. Kalisto’s win was a temporary foot place, and I see Enzo standing on top yet again. Sorry internet.
MOC Prediction: Enzo Amore (New Cruiserweight Champion)
The Demon (Finn Balor) vs. Sister Abigail (Bray Wyatt)
Ok, let’s face it. This is pretty much a Halloween inspired match. Not saying it won’t be fun to watch, but the build up has been very lacking in my opinion. First, both men faced each other as men, Bray won. Then, Demon Balor comes out, Finn won. Then they faced as men once again, Finn won. And now their both dressed up with Bray’s become the harbinger for “sister Abigail” and looks to seek revenge on Balor.
There’s a pattern here and as Bray is Debuting this new look, I see him taking home the glory this time. Hell you never know, maybe Abigail will somehow alter the Demon himself. Ohh and it appears Finn might be coming out as the Demon but painted as a pumpkin. Not Halloween inspired at all!
MOC Prediction: Bray Wyatt… Sorry I mean Sister Abigail.
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Mickie James
–WWE Women’s Championship-
I have been very infatuated with Mickie James ever since her debut back in October of 2005 when she had her feud with Trish Stratus. She was this edgy talent who was just exciting and new. I still find her infatuating today to be honest. Even with Alexa going with this whole “you’re old” storyline, frankly I don’t care! She can be older and still whoop ass better than anyone else there.
Mickie still has a lot left in her tank and it would honestly be pretty cool to see her with one more run if WWE would allow it. And even though my gut instinct says to go with Alexa as she’ll find some way to cheat out of this, I’m still going with Mickie James. I don’t care gut, SHUT IT!
MOC Prediction: Mickie James (New WWE Raw Women’s Champion)
The Shield vs. Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun & Kane
5-3 Handicap TLC Match
I am more than ecstatic to see that the Shield has been reformed. Especially with all three men developing their own singles characters, and each holding the WWE title at some point. All coming together again, just seems special. BUT, Yes there is a but. When you face 5 men, two of which (Cesaro & Sheamus) have put on a great fight with Rollins and Dean. Braun Strowman who had a hell of a feud with Roman. Kane who in himself is intimidating and dominating and Miz, who’s all a pretty decent competitor and the IC champion. I can’t see Shield coming out on top here, or better yet, I hope they don’t.
Let me explain. It’s one thing to build a guy like Strowman to face multiple talents to build him up. But don’t do that with the Shield. Their special as it is, and if WWE decides to have them beat all 5 men in a TLC match, where all 5 will be in the ring at the same time, well then you’re painting an unstoppable picture for one team, and a joke for the other. Miz’s team even though Heel’s shouldn’t be put aside especially when their two men more than the other guys. I feel WWE needs to keep the Shield in a position where they can be beat and do get beat. It’ll be fantastic for them to win don’t get me wrong. But then you have one joke of a team with 5 men, three of which have been WWE Champion (Miz, Kane, Sheamus); Cesaro who himself is tough as nail, and Strowman who’s dominance has been well documented just lose to a team that is undermanned and under powered. Allow the Shield to put up a fight, but don’t have them win, not under these circumstances.
MOC Predictions: Miz, Braun Strowman, Cesaro, Sheamus & Kane
