MOC Prediction – WWE Battleground 2017

(Images here-under sourced from WWE.com)

This Sunday we see the return of the Punjabi Prison Match, a match in where you’re not only within a cage, of bamboo, but within a cage, within a cage of bamboo… That’s a lot of bamboo.

Below are my predictions for this Sunday’s PPV and my thoughts on the matches.

Tye Dillinger vs. Aiden English
-KICKOFF MATCH-
Singles Match

These two have had there moments in a WWE ring developing a small feud which merits decent matches. Tye has garnered the upper hand on many occasions and has captured multiple wins over the drama-king Aiden English, but in all honest there has to be a climax in their story where the bad-guy gets the upper hand. See what I did there? In my opinion Aiden English needs a win now that he’s a singles competitor, and even though he gotten them on Smackdown, he needs a bigger one during a bigger event, so in my opinion I feel English comes out on top of this one.

MOC Prediction: Aiden English

Breezango Prepare To Close The Case At WWE Battleground

Not really sure how to address this, but Breezango plan to get to the bottom of the case in who’s been attacking and ruining their Fashion office these past few weeks. These guys have been making probably some of the best segments I’ve seen in a while and frankly their killing it. As for attackers, I really couldn’t tell you who I think it is but some ideas I have are:

  1. Ascension
  2. The Hype Bros
  3. The Colons
  4. Dolph Ziggler

In all honesty, I hope it’s Dolph just upset that he couldn’t be apart of this beautiful crew of men.

Charlotte vs. Natalya vs. Tamina vs. Lana vs. Becky Lynch
-5-Way Elimination Match To Determine #1 Contender For Naomi’s Women’s Championship-
5-Way Elimination Match

The women in WWE have been doing a great job at delivering some intense hard hitting matches. This will be no different. Now i’m not going to list who I believe will be eliminated 1st, 2nd and so on. But I’ll give my thoughts on who I feel should deserve it, and in all honesty I’m going with Natalya. She’s been on the short list on so many occasions when it comes to the WWE title, and the woman can deliver a good match depending on her opponent. I feel that giving her an opportunity a the title will at least give her a bit more backing to the ass-kicker she could be.

MOC Prediction: Natalya

And if I had to guess, I would say her and Charlotte are the final two competitors.

AJ Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens
-WWE United States Championship-
Singles Match

It was a bit shocking when I heard AJ Styles won the US title during WWE’s live event at MSG, but then again not really. WWE usually likes to do utilize that venue for some surprises. But this has only developed a feud which has been fun to watch and enjoyable to experience. Owens in my opinion works with everyone, and when he’s pinned with another guy who can deliver in the ring, it’s just a present to experience. I feel this match will deliver on many bases and I honestly feel that Owens will come out on top re-capturing that WWE US title. Only to elevate this feud to another rematch at Summerslam.

MOC Prediction: Kevin Owens (New US Champion)

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin
Singles Match

Shinsuke vs. Baron in my opinion is just a placement feud to give Baron something to do while we wait for him to cash in the Money in the Bank case. Which wouldn’t surprise me if it happened during Battleground. I feel though that WWE will keep Nakamura strong and will have go over, so at a later time he could challenge for the WWE title if Baron wins it and can claim that because he’s beaten him before, he can do it again. So for me I’ll say Nakamura goes over.

If WWE wanted to keep Baron looking like a monster he could generate the loss by getting DQ’ed by using a weapon or a low blow. Take the sleazy heel way out.

MOC Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura via DQ

The Usos (c) vs. New Day
-WWE Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship-
Tag Team Match

I won’t lie, I’m enjoying the new Usos gimmick. It seems more genuine and it appears that their having a good time with it. They can be taken more seriously than before, and seem to have gotten better on the mic. New Day though are always enjoyable and yes some can argue that they’ve become stale, but to be honest they still put a smile on your face and mine, so i’ll leave it at that.

When it comes to this match I feel Usos will still come out on top. Either they win cleanly, or they run an angle where the ref confuses one of the Uso brothers, and gives New Day the 3 count, but reverts the win after discovering that the illegal man was pinned. Usos take advantage and pick up the win again. This at least leaves room for once again another match down the line, that is if WWE wants to keep this feud going leading to Summerslam.

MOC Prediction: The Usos (retain)

John Cena vs. Rusev
Flag Match

John Cena has gone on record saying that his time in WWE is numbered. Reaching his 40’s he knows that his time is coming up and wants to work with those that he believes can make the biggest changes in the company. That should tell you something about Rusev. This flag match is good for cheap pops, as Cena will try to the US title and Rusev for the Bulgarian flag. Though, as much as I want to say Cena will win, I’m cheering for Rusev. The man needs heat, and being grabbing the Bulgarian flag waving it over a downed Cena will generate great heat for him. To be honest he could also grab the us title, cover Cena with it and just stand above him waving the Bulgarian flag. Again, this match works well for cheap heat and frankly I feel Rusev needs it the most.

MOC Prediction: Rusev

Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Randy Orton
-WWE Championship-
Punjabi Prison Match

The return of the Punjabi Prison Match and the main event for the night. This match positions Jinder to not receive any help from the Singh Brothers, at least at the beginning so it could position Randy to win. But in my opinion I feel Jinder will still come out on top with the potential for Baron to interfere at the end and cash in the MITB against Jinder.

Not much to say about this match, but I know it’ll be a aggressive match between the two with the Singh brothers getting involved somewhere down the line. But as stated, I believe Baron will get involved and potentially win the WWE Championship leaving Battleground.

MOC Prediction: Jinder Mahal (retains)
MOC Prediction: Baron Corbin cashes in (New WWE Champion)

It’s Time To Move On With MindofCarnage.com

“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths”
– Walt Disney

Yes that is a Walt Disney quote, and yes I feel that is sums up what I want to share.

So I wanted to provide an update to everyone who has supported MindofCarnage.com and who’s motivated me to continue to post news and recaps on a daily basis. You guys have been the best, and it comes with heavy heart to announce that MindofCarnage.com will be moving away from Wrestling news and recaps. To be honest, the reason is because it’s really hard to upkeep what’s happening in the world today when only one person is reporting it. Now I’ve done it for 2 years, and I’ve enjoyed it and have met several new fans who have made my experience amazing, but there comes a time when reviewing your product, you begin to realize that there’s a lot more you can do to make it stand out.

As some of you may know, I am an aspiring professional wrestler training out of Anthony Carelli’s (aka. Santino Marella) Battle Arts Academy in Mississauga Ontario. Here’s a latest pic of me during my debut match… which I lost, but that’s beyond the point!

Image may contain: one or more people

I feel my experiences while trailing under Yuki Ishikawa, and learning the in-ring style from Anthony, is enough experience to share with you guys and to get you a different perspective into the wrestling business.

On top of that, I’ve been able to showcase new podcasts featuring Jaybone (Smash This Podcast), Wrestling With…, Ramblin’ About Wrestlin’ and more, who have provided their opinions in the business and overall thoughts on the products. I am proud to announce that they will remain with MindofCarnage.com as I plan on bringing you more unique content and not just news which can be found online anywhere. So moving forward, MOC will have more editorials, more point of views, more podcasts and overall a more unique experience on the site than just overall news. To be honest, I never actually wanted to transition to wrestling news, but somehow it happened and stuck for a while.

As time goes on, MOC will hold contests, competitions and whatever else I feel you guys will have fun with. I plan on making this a more exciting site to visit where you can talk and communicate with wrestling fans alike. In addition I also plan on revamping the MOCForums, which I never did anything with. Again it was one of those things that because I was covering the news and recaps, I never had enough time to work on the forums. But I plan on getting that going as well.

I appreciate the ongoing support you guys have given me, and couldn’t thank you enough. For the next few days there will be some changes coming to the site so don’t be surprised if it changed up. I truly hope you guys decide to stick around to see what MOC can become and help grow a community of wrestling fans that can talk, discuss, and share what’s on their minds. For we all are wrestling fans, and enjoy the Carnage that comes from it.

Victoria Reveals Which Company Forgot To Renew Her Contract

Alberto El Patron Talks Retiring In Two Years, Getting Married Soon & How WWE Is Bad For The Wrestling Business

Newly crowned Global Force Wrestling Champion, Alberto El Patron spoke to Justin Barraso of Extra Mustard’s Sports Illustrated and addressed multiple topics.

Here are the highlights:

Signing with Impact Wrestling & competing against guys like Bobby Lashley:

“I am so happy to work with Impact Wrestling. I have nothing but respect for them, unlike another company, who I don’t watch, I don’t follow and I don’t even look at their tweets. I have some real beef with some of the people in that company.”

“It’s rare to find someone with Bobby’s size and athleticism. He’s a fantastic performer and he is such a huge guy. He has a great psychology in the ring, the chemistry was there the moment the bell ring rang and it was a great experience working with him. I am very happy to work with Impact and talent like Bobby”

“I am excited to be with Impact Wrestling because I get to work with talents like EC3 again. I had the opportunity to be with him in FCW when we were in developmental in that other company. We worked together once when they were trying to make him a part of the main roster in WWE, then he went to Impact Wrestling and made a name for himself. He’s a good guy with a lot of talent and he’s fantastic on the microphone. The entire office went crazy for our promos and then it was easy in the ring. I’m happy to see the young talent is taking the torch to continue doing good stuff in the business.”

“I will stay in Impact as long as the fans want me there. They were so happy to have me there and treated me with a lot of respect. The office, talent, and staff are treated with respect by everyone, regardless of your position in the business.”

Alberto El Patron’s plans moving forward:

“I’m planning on retiring in two years. I’m still good to go and I don’t have any major injuries, but I always promised myself I would leave on top. I started wrestling when I was eight years old with the amateur wrestling team in Mexico. I love the business with all my heart, but my body is getting tired. It’s all the travel, I’m going to do my last two years with Impact Wrestling. I’ll continue to do some indie shows here and there and I have a lot of projects outside the business. I am going to continue running Combate Americas, the MMA company that I work for and I am going to start a soap opera in Mexico in two months. We also have a reality show produced by Combate Americas that was sold to Amazon. People should be able to see that in three more months.”

“I opened a restaurant and bar in San Antonio in November. We are the place to go on Fridays and Saturdays, God is blessing me, I’m getting married pretty soon. We changed the date twice, but we’re getting married in the last week of July, so I am keeping very busy outside the business.”

How WWE is hurting the wrestling business:

“It’s horrible for the business, but you cannot blame that company. That company is doing what a company is supposed to do, monopolize, get the best talent from everywhere, and try to destroy the competition. They’re smart, you cannot blame them. The problem is with the talent, just going there to be there with the promise of being on TV, but not even charging good money for your work, is not good business. We as wrestlers need to remember that this is a business. We started because we love the business and we stay in it because we have a lot of passion for it, but you have to be rewarded for your work. I was there and saw some of the main guys, new top heels and new top babyfaces, get paid nothing for their matches. The new talent joining NXT is taking pay cuts to work there, sometimes even 80 percent less, you need to be rewarded for your work in a business.”

Nikki Bella Talks On Why Brie Bella Had Such A Difficult Labor

WWE superstar Nikki Bella spoke with E! News to promote the new season for Total Bellas. During the interview she spoke about her sister Brie Bella and how she had such a difficult time giving birth.

Here’s what she had to say:

“She tried to go natural and it was like eight or 10 hours into it had to get an epidural and then in the end had to get a C-section. Her abs were too tight, go figure, Leave it to the WWE Superstar, abs too tight.”

“I mean, it’s definitely a struggle for women in the beginning and it should be. I saw what they put their bodies through and oh my gosh, I give all the moms in the world so much credit. That is not easy, labor. I think it takes minimum a week to heal from that.”
