The Real Reason Why Mauro Ranallo Has Been Absent From Smackdown Live Commentating

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

As some fans may have notices, Maura Ranallo has been ascent from Smackdown Live announcing for the past couple of weeks. This week WWE claimed that Ranallo was sick and was unable to make the show, while the prior week snow had kept him away.

Based on reports, the real reason Ranallo has missed these shows is because he suffers from depression. Mauro Ranallo has suffered from depression dating back to his teenage years and been vocal about his condition through social media and interviews.

Two closest friends of Ranallo have confirmed these reports and indicate that he’s doing fine and resting. This is not the first time Ranallo has missed events due to his depression. He has missed an Invicta MMA show for the same reason a few years back.

Impact Wrestling Adding “TM” Trademark Symbol On Youtube Video’s Involving “Broken Universe”

As we all know, Anthem Sports and Entertainment & The Hardy brothers are in a legal fight right now for the “broken universe” gimmick following the Hardy’s departure from the company. Anthem believes that they have rights to the gimmick, whereas the Hardy’s believe they have rights for creating it without any financial backing from Anthem or Impact Wrestling. Well it appears Impact Wrestling is trying to get sneaky as they’ve begun renaming their Youtube videos and adding a “TM” to the end of anything that has to do with the Broken Universe.

Let’s just say, that’s not how you copyright an idea, but you can see a tweet from a fan who noticed the change:

Goldberg Addresses Fan Criticism On Moveset – Says He Only Needs Two Moves

WWE released a new video featuring Goldberg. In the video Goldberg responded to criticism about his moveset. He says that he only needs two moves to take you out!

Here’s what he said:

“The criticism, I use it all to fuel me. ‘Goldberg only has two moves.’ Well I’ve only needed two moves. What am I going to do, go out there and hit fifty moves and make it look like I’m everybody else? He [Brock] is going to know after what happened the first time not to take me lightly”

Mick Foley Remembers Jan Ross

Mick Foley took to Facebook to remember the late Jan Ross, the wife of Hall of FAmer Jim Ross who passed away yesturday following an accident on Monday.

See his post below:

It seems impossible to believe that I will never see Jan Ross again. I can’t believe she’s gone. I can see her smile. I can hear her voice. So kind. Such warmth. I always enjoyed talking to her – in the hallways of too many arenas to count, at WWE charitable events, and on so many occasions in the green room before my shows, where she and JR thought enough of me to venture out into the night to hear my stories. She always asked about my children; knew each of their names, and truly cared. It’s truly a sad moment in time for our community. We have lost a beloved member, and Jim Ross has lost the love of his life. My deepest sympathies to Jim, Jan’s family, and everyone who loved her. My prayers are with all of you at this time.”

Bray Wyatt Talks Working With Bo Dallas, Hating ‘Breaking The Mold’ Statement & More

WWE Champion, Bray Wyatt was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated and spoke on several subjects.

Here are some highlights:

Wanting to Work With Bo Dallas (real life brother):

“Bo Dallas is, quite possibly, the most talented wrestler on either roster. He is the most underrated superstar of all time, in my opinion. He has so much to give. At some point, I would love to form an alliance with him because I know who and what he really is. Whether people want to look at him like that, well, then I’ll show you. It’s very, very possible.”

People Saying Bray “Broke The Mold” as Champion:

“That generic outlook of what a WWE champion should be is a joke to me. The casual fan walks in and expects to see a guy in short trunks with abs and a shaven body. I do not believe in that. When you watch UFC, there is not a cliché champion who looks the same every time. I am a well-spoken, educated person, and I’m also an extremely accomplished athlete. For me, it’s disrespect and a slap in the face when people say I broke a mold as champion or I don’t fit as champion. I know what I’m capable of, and I knew I’d be here.”

Playing a “Character” in WWE:

“When people use the word ‘character’, I find it offensive. To do what I do, you can’t be a character. I’m a sick individual, and it takes a sick individual to do what I do. Becoming WWE champion was the number one goal all along. This was a power play, and now, this is truly the Era of Wyatt. This is my time, and it was the power that I sought all along.”

Natalya Inducting Beth Phoenix Into The WWE Hall of Fame

WWE Issued the following:

Natalya will induct her best friend and former tag team partner, Beth Phoenix, into the WWE Hall of Fame on Friday, March 31, live on WWE Network.

“There’s nobody that I can think of that deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame more than Beth Phoenix,” Natalya told “She’s a pioneer for women in our division. Beth did extraordinary things for women in WWE.”

The Glamazon stood out in many ways during her incredible run in WWE, becoming a four-time champion and the second woman in history to enter the Royal Rumble Match.

“Beth broke down a lot of walls for women in the industry in the sense that she wasn’t a cookie-cutter-type female wrestler,” Natalya explained. “She was bigger than the other girls, she was muscular and dominant, she was strong. At different stages in WWE, that wasn’t always the ‘in’ thing. Beth did it her way and stayed true to who she was. She believed in herself and blazed her own trail.”

For Natalya, inducting Phoenix is an honor, though one she joked that she knew was coming.

“It’s not a surprise,” the third-generation Superstar said. “Beth knows I’d put her in the Sharpshooter if she asked anybody else.”

Kidding aside, Natalya can’t wait to present The Glamazon to the WWE Universe as a Hall of Famer for the first time.

“Beth is one of my best friends,” she said. “We’re close as sisters. It’s such a huge honor for me to induct her into the WWE Hall of Fame because I feel like we shared so many incredible memories on the road, traveling thousands of miles together. We did it all together. While Beth is getting this honor, I want to help share her journey and do her justice.”

How will Natalya honor her close friend? Find out when she inducts Beth Phoenix into the WWE Hall of Fame at the 2017 Induction Ceremony, live on WWE Network Friday, March 31 at 8 ET/5 PT.
