MOC Predictions – NXT TakeOver: Chicago – May 20, 2017

Hey guys, so as some of you may know, MOC is no longer reporting news and recaps. It was a decision I wanted to implement as I want to bring a more customized site to you all featuring exclusive content and opinions. But it doesn’t mean I can’t give you my glorious predictions which NEVER come true. So being as this weekend is TakeOver and Backlash, here are my predictions for Saturday’s broadcast of NXT TakeOver: Chicago which will be aired on the WWE Network.

(images below sourced from

Roderick Strong vs. Eric Young
Singles Match

There been some growing tension in the last few weeks between these two men. WWE has run a few highlight videos on Strong trying to build his character up and reveal that he’s become a new father, and the videos have been doing a decent job.

So when it comes to this match, I feel Roderick has the most momentum behind him as WWE tries to sell him as being “the guy” at this time. So in my opinion I feel that he does win, but via DQ. When Eric Young is involved in a match, you also have to know SAnitY will also be involved somehow. So I feel the way WWE can draw out this feud is having Strong win following an interference from SAnitY.

MOC Prediction: Roderick Strong via DQ.

Tyler Bate (c) vs. Pete Dunne
-WWE United Kingdom Championship-
Singles Match

We get a surprise UK title match at an NXT event. Frankly I can’t complain as these talents are great. Tyler Bate has been a fighting champion and represents a division in WWE that is gaining ground. This Saturday that UK title [which looks beautiful by the way] get defended against a fighting challenger who will go to any cost to become the new champion. Pete Dunne is a fighter, and has truly showed his capabilities in that ring in every match he’s been apart of. Whether fighting along side UK talents, or showcasing his dominate talents in singles competition I feel Dunne’s time is here, and this Saturday he becomes the new UK champion. Especially as WWE begins to tape the UK Championship specials. The time for UK fighting has begun.

MOC Prediction: Pete Dunne (New United Kingdom Champion)

Authors of Pain (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano
-NXT Tag Team Championship-
Ladder Match

So this match is up in the air at this time as Tommaso Ciampa sustained an injury at an NXT Live event in Highland Heights, KY. Ciampa jumped off the apron for a knee attack, but when he landed he may have sprained his knee or ankle. The match was stopped right away when the ref threw up the “X” indicating a true injury. Here’s a slow motion of the spot thanks to a fan in attendance:

WWE hasn’t provided any updates on the situation, or even if the match has been cancelled but nonetheless even if it were to happen, I feel WWE would keep the tag titles on Authors of Pain, and eventually split Gargano and Ciampa as both men are amazing singles competitors. Not to mention there was a singer who revealed online that she was taping a theme for Gargano, which only lead to speculation of a potential split sometime soon. So in my opinion, no matter the circumstances or who faces who, I believe Authors of Pain retain those titles.

MOC Prediction: Authors Of Pain (retain)

UPDATE: In an update, Triple H revealed in a conference call that Ciampa twisted his ankle and is being evaluated today. But early reports indicate that Ciampa is good to go for TakeOver.

Asuka (c) vs. Ruby Riot vs. Nikki Cross
-NXT Women’s Championship-
Triple Threat Match

Let’s face it, when you compete against Asuka one-on-one, you’ll eventually be tapping out. So let’s add more women to a match, and the potential to have Asuka lose without even being pinned or submitted. With WWE running the Women’s Tournament sometime in the fall, there’s been several new talents which WWE are looking to bring in. Many presume that Asuka who has been so dominant in NXT may be one to be called up to the main roster sooner rather then later. This match, has the potential to have Asuka lose her title, but without her being the one who lose it.

With Asuka not being the reason to losing her title, it could just drive her insane trying to regain her title as it would mean that her streak as the longest NXT women’s champion comes to a stop. In all honesty I do feel that Asuka may lose her title this Saturday, and if I had to pick one winner, I would assume Nikki Cross becomes the new champion. The main reason is because NXT may start pushing the SAnitY stable soon, and this could lead to potential titles in the long run.

MOC Prediction: Nikki Cross (New NXT Women’s Champion) pins Ruby Riot.

Bobby Roode (c) vs. Hideo Itami
-NXT Championship-
Singles match

All I can say is, if Hideo hits the GTS, the Chicago crowd will either support him, or boo the ‘F’ out of him. As we all know the Chicago audience are crazy for their hometown boy CM Punk, so I will be expecting a ton of Punk chants, but really hope they don’t over saturate the show with them.

In regards to this match, I feel NXT hasn’t really built this match as a main event worthy draw. Bobby Roode has been fabulous in the ring, and Itami’s not bad either, but his lack of charisma is what kills my draw to see this match. He’s not a bad competitor in any way shape or form, I just feel that the build for this match has been a bit lack-luster. But nonetheless I feel both men will deliver and give a decent show. As far as winners go, Bobby Roode comes out on top in my opinion. He holds that title with pride and frankly it looks good on him and I feel that WWE will keep that title on him for a while. Due to that, I feel Roode will retain.

MOC Prediction: Bobby Roode (retains)

Those are my predictions for Saturday’s show. Please feel free to share yours below and let’s see what you guys think may happen. Always love to hear from others.

John Cena said that now is the time, Cena would say that before she went into surgery, Cena would tell her that one day he would marry her. John Cena would go on one knee and propose to Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33. Showcasing a LARGE FUCKING DIAMOND RING, he asked and Nikki obviously accepted.

Triple H vs. Seth Rollins
Non-Sanctioned Match

Triple H entrance had him entering the arena surrounded by police patrolled bikes, riding his own three wheeled bike with Stephanie McMahon on the back.

Rollins entrance had him hold a torch and place it on the ground; this set the ground a fire down the ramp and to the ring. This was just a special little effect.

The match begins and right away both men begin exchanging punches. Rollins beats on him and gets Triple H off his feet. He runs the ropes and hits a running kick and takes Triple H to the outside. She positions herself again, but Asuka grabs the ref and pushes him against the ropes taking Ember off them. Asuka lands a hard head kick and pins for the 3 count.

Winner: Asuka (retains)

AUDIENCE: Drew McIntyre (aka. Drew Galloway) at ringside for tonight’s NXT TakeOver: Orlando show… that’s interesting.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Bobby Roode (c)
-NXT Championship-
Singles match

Prior to the beginning of the match, William Regal hands the new NXT championship to the ref. Again, this one is not that bad either.

The match begins and both men exchange a kick with one-another. Roode tries go behind, but Nakamura stops him with a neck lock. Both men go back and forth with some chain wrestling, with Nakamura taking Roode to the ropes and resting his head on his gut. Roode laughs at it and tells him that NXT is his now. He does a Glorious taunt, but Nakamura pushes him away with his leg. Roode finally goes on the attack, but Nakamura stops him with a few knees to the gut. He takes Roode to the corner and delivers a few more kicks and looks for the good vibrations, but Roode grabs his foot and pushes him away. Nakamura lands a side head kick and takes him to the corner again where he lands the good vibrations.

Roode rolls to the outside and Nakamura follows. He throws Roose into the barricade and rolls him into the ring. Roode stops Nakamura on the apron, and Nakamura tries for a suplex. Roode stops him, runs the ropes and hits Nakamura hard throwing him against the barricade. Roode moves to the outside and goes on the attack. Roode rolls Nakamura back into the ring and begins choking him on the ropes.

Roode takes Nakamura to the corner and stomps away on him as the ref counts to 4. He stomps on his again with the ref counting to 4 once again. Roode taunts “Glorious” to the audience and goes on the attack. He hits a few chest chops and throws Nakamura to the opposite corner. He lands a running clothesline and hits a neck breaker giving him a 2 count. Roode locks in a clavicle hold keeping Nakamura down riving in pain.

Nakamura manages to fight out, but Roode puts him back to the mat and delivers a dropping knee giving him a 2 count. Roode continues to wear down Nakamura by locking in a neck twist and yelling at a ref “common!” He gets another pin but only a 2 count. Roode right away locks another neck twist. Nakamura gets some momentum and gets to his feet. He pushes him off the ropes but Roode tries for the sleeper, Nakamura rolls him out and hits a kick to the back of Roode’s head.

Both men reach their feet and Nakamura begins landing some hard strikes. He hits a few punches and kicks to the chest and takes Roode to the corner. He lands a running knee to the gut, and hangs Roode over the top turnbuckle. He hits a knee to the gut, and dropkicks Roode to the outside of the ring. He lays Roode along the apron and hits a running knee to Roode’s head and jumps landing his knee to the back of Roode’s head. He rolls Roode back into the ring and pins for a close 2 count.

Nakamura looks for the exploder suplex, but Roode breaks out with a few elbows. He tries for a running move but Nakamura counters and runs the ropes. Roode counters and hits a HARD clothesline. Roode Takes Nakamura to the corner and hits a chest slaps. He tries for a running move but Nakamura connects a big boot and hits a running knee. Nakamura looks for his finisher but Roode steps out of the way and attacks Nakamura’s past “injured” knee. Roode attacks the knee with a few elbows and drags Nakamura to the corner driving his knee against the steel post.

Roode stomps on the leg in the ring and drives his knee into the back thigh. Roode slaps Nakamura and locks in the Figure-4-Leglock. Nakamura yells out in pain and tries to break the hold, but instead he tries to flip over to reverse the pressure, and eventually manages to do it. Roode breaks the hold and again goes on the attack on the knee.

As Roode was taking his time with the attacks Nakamura surprise him with a arm lock. Roode manages to break it, but gets transitioned into a Triangle hold. Roode almost breaks out of that as well, but Nakamura again transitions back into the arm lock. Roode slowly inches to the ropes and manages to making the ref break the hold. Nakamura gets to his feet angry and delivers hard aggressive kicks to Roode’s body and head. Nakamura lays Roode over the top turnbuckle again and tries for another knee, but Roode moves out of the way taking Nakamura’s knee into the turnbuckle.

Roode tries to stretch out his arm on the outside and climbs back into the ring. He delivers a few shots to Nakamura’s back and grabs his leg. Nakamura begins kicking Roode in the arm over and over again. Roode ducks one of the kicks and hits a back stabber giving him a 2 count pin.

Both men, exhausted stare off in the middle of the ring as they reach their feet. They begin exchanging punches. Roode looks to hit his DDT, but Nakamura counters with a knee. He hits a face front suplex and lands a running knee to Roode giving him a 2 count pin. Nakamura calls for his finisher but Roode uses his brain and rolls to the outside. Nakamura follows and rolls Roode back in and as he’s climbing into the ring, Roode kicks the middle rope giving him a low blow and hits his Glorious DDT. Bobby pins but Nakamura kicks out at 2.

Roode not believing that Nakamura kicked out, climbs to the outside of the ring and grabs the ringside bell. The ref argues with Roode and grabs the bell pulling it away from Roode. Bobby turns around to a hard kick from Nakamura. He hits his exploder suplex and tries for his finisher but Roode catches him into a spinebuster and pin for a very close 2 count.

Roode struggle to get Nakamura to his feet for the DDT, but Nakamura pushes Roode into the corner and drives his shoulder into the gut. Nakamura tries for a running move, but Roode drives his shoulder into Nakamura’s knee. Bobby Roode climbs to the second rope, and holding Nakamura jumps and transitions into his Glorious DDT and pins for the 3 count win.

Winner: Bobby Roode (retains)

There will be timestamps throughout the night so you can see when there are updates. Make sure to come back every 15-20 minutes for more updates!

6:45PM: The pre-show is starting soon! Grab the popcorn, and get ready!

The pre-show can be viewed for free here:

7:00PM: The pre-show is live! We go right to the analyst desk inside the arena. The crew on the desk is Renee Young, Booker T, and Peter Rosenberg. Booker T does the first pop culture reference on the show, referencing the Daytona 500, which happened last week. Speaking of Booker, the crowd gave him a huge reaction when he started talking.

7:03PM: Charly Caruso will be in the social media lounge tonight, interviewing Samoa Joe during the second half of the hour. A match is also scheduled for the pre-show too.

7:13PM: We get shown a backstage segment from earlier where Brian Kendrick motivates Noam Dar as they are teaming later on tonight. Kendrick implies that Alicia will have a meltdown ringside, which makes Fox freak out. Dar diffuses the situation, but Kendrick leaves saying “I don’t do crazy”, making Fox flip out again.

7:16PM: Cesaro and Sheamus are at the analyst desk. Cesaro is frustrated because he feels the fans doesn’t want to see him talk, they want to see him fight. The whole desk says that Gallows and Anderson will win the tag match tonight.

7:2oPM: Mick Foley is backstage on the phone with Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie’s flight is delayed, and she is mad at Mick. As they are on the phone, Jinder Mahal walks in and says that him and Rusev are no longer a team. Mahal and Rusev start arguing. Mick Foley sets up some sort of thing between them later tonight, but it’s very confusing what it was. As Foley walks out of the scene, Stephanie is still on the phone saying “Mick?”

7:26PM: It is time for the Samoa Joe interview. The first question is “Why did you side with Triple H, and why did you attack Seth Rollins?”. Joe said that he was presented with an opportunity, and he wanted to make an impact. Second question was how does he plan on destroying Sami Zayn tonight? He says that he has done it before and he can do it again. Third question was what Joe’s plan for Wrestlemania? He said that his plan will be revealed eventually, but he wants to make an impact. Good segment.

7:40PM: Rich Swann and Akira Tozawa vs Brian Kendrick and Noam Dar

We head to the commentary booth with Austin Aries, Michael Cole, and Corey Graves. Our first match is up next, but before that we see a teaser of Austin Aries, and his eventual in-ring return. Our first match of the night is from the Cruiserweight division. A combination of two rivalries, if you will. Swann and Tozawa face Kendrick and Dar. Tozawa starts off against Dar. Early on in the match Swann and Tozawa try for double dives, but they stop because Fox stands infront of Kendrick and Dar. We go to a quick commercial break.

After the break Tozawa is in the ring under the control of Brian Kendrick. “Taking him to school” as Aries described. Swann gets the hot tag on Dar. Standing frogsplash by Rich gets a kickout. Swann and Dar wear eachother down, and another hot tag happens, this time Tozawa and Kendrick. Kendrick and Dar get thrown to the outside once again. The double dives by Tozawa and Swann work this time around. Swann and Dar are the legal men. Tozawa and Kendrick are brawling outside the ring as Swann hits the Pheonix Splash on Dar for the win.

7:54PM: Rich Swann and Akira Tozawa def. Brian Kendrick and Noam Dar

7:55PM: PPV to start soon.

8:00PM: The PPV is underway! It starts off with a video package hyping up the show. After that we get a quick pyro show, then we head to our first match!

8:04PM: Sami Zayn vs Samoa Joe

It’s time for our first match of the PPV, Sami Zayn vs Samoa Joe! Sami is happy heading to the ring, but he buckles down and is serious once the match starts. The match is at a very slow pace from the get-go. Samoa Joe wears down Zayn with strikes. The crowd does not react too much to what is happening. Sami Zayn starts to slowly make a comeback. He hits the Blue Thunder Bomb, but gets a kickout. Joe hits his patented Senton. Zayn kicks out. After that move, Joe goes back to his jabs and strikes. Joe hits the ropes for a move, but Sami collapses. When Joe walks towards him, Zayn hits a roll-up pin. Zayn must have been “playing possum”. The two are on top rope. Joe tries for the Superplex but it doesn’t work. Both of them get off the top rope. Zayn tries for a Helluva Kick but he gets slammed down by Joe. Joe hits Zayn with the Cohena Clutch (Might have spelt it wrong lol) to end the match. Crowd is dead silent.

8:17PM: Samoe Joe def. Sami Zayn

8:19PM: Bayley is interviewed backstage. Bayley says that Charlotte has the advantage. Bayley challenges Charlotte to leave Dana Brooke in the locker room for tonights match. Nia Jax walks into the scene and says that she will rip her “best friend” (Sasha Banks) to shreds.

8:21PM: Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson (RAW Tag Team Championship Match)

Our first tag match of the PPV is up next! Enzo Amore and Big Cass face the tag champs Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson for the RAW Tag Team Championships. Enzo and Cass make many, many Milwaukee references while on the mic before the match. Cass and Anderson start off in this match. Gallows gets thrown to the outside alongside his partner Karl, and Enzo gets thrown onto both of them. Back in the ring is Anderson and Enzo. As they get back in the ring, the champs have control in the match. Enzo is isolated in the champs corner. Anderson and Gallows are frequently tagging in and out to keep Enzo in their corner. This goes on for quite some time.

Finally, after a very long time, Big Cass gets the hot tag. Cass hits a big boot to Anderson. The team hits Bada Boom Shaka Laka and go for the pin, but Gallows drags Enzo out of the ring during the pin. Anderson hit Enzo with a knee a minute later. When he goes for the pin, Enzo has his leg on the rope, but the ref doesn’t notice because Gallows pushed Enzo’s foot off.

8:36PM: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson def. Enzo Amore and Big Cass to retain the RAW Tag Team Championships

8:38PM: Stephanie is on the phone with Mick again. Her flight is still delayed and she says that she won’t make it to the show.

8:40PM: Nia Jax vs Sasha Banks

We have had our first singles match, our first tag match, and now we will have our first women’s match of the night! Nia Jax faces Sasha Banks in a grudge match. Sasha Banks is working the “wearing down” gimmick on Jax, which is basically attacking Jax with strikes, and Jax nosells most of them. Anyways, Nia Jax has control over this match for most of the time. Sasha shows almost no offence in this match. Crowd is not showing much interest in this match. Nia Jax puts Sasha in the Torture Rack and starts to squat while doing that. Sasha reverses it into a sleeper. Jax escaped by running Sasha into the corner. Sasha jumps back onto Nia’s back for another attempt at the sleeper. Nia throws Sasha off this time. Sasha hits a DDT into a Banks Statement next. Crowd starts to make noise for that. Jax reverses by Slamming down Banks then leg dropping her. After that, Jax tries for something, but Banks hits a roll-up pin for the win. Crowd pops for this. Jax looks shocked.

8:52PM: Sasha Banks def. Nia Jax

8:55PM: Rusev and Jinder Mahal find opponents

It’s time for whatever Mick planned for Jinder Mahal and Rusev. When the two get to the ring, they immediately start to argue. They then start to brawl. Jinder awaits his opponent. Cesaro and Sheamus come out. Cesaro will face Jinder Mahal first. The crowd was silent for this match. As was I. This was a RAW mid-card match. Cesaro gets the victory after some slow pace fighting. Who cared about the match. It was a waste of everyone’s time.

After the match, Jinder gets beaten up by Rusev. Who answers Rusev’s challenge? Big Show! Big Show and Rusev battle for quite some time. Big Show Chokeslam’s Rusev two times in a row. He looks around at the crowd, then chokeslams Rusev for the third time. Rusev is lying in the corner after, and eats a knockout punch to end the match. Rusev and Jinder both take their loses and leave.

9:18PM: Jinder and Rusev lose their matches lol

9:23PM: Jack Gallagher vs Neville (Cruiserweight Championship Match)

Our second Cruiserweight match is for the Championship! Jack Gallagher faces the champion Neville! Before the match we see another Austin Aries hype video. The two grapple and trade strikes at the start. It is still a very back and forth match as bigger moves start to get used. Gallagher does a dive at one point, which feels almost out of character for him, but still cool. After that both of them go to the top rope and Gallagher hits a Superplex. Later on Neville throws Gallagher onto the ropes then does a very fast suplex that looked ugly. Neville follows up with his crazy flippy thing then goes for a pin but Gallagher kicks out.

Gallagher starts to make a comeback, hitting Neville with two headbutts in a row. Minutes later Neville sits on the top rope again but he gets hit with another headbutt. Gallagher then gets pushed off the ropes, Neville hits the Red Arrow right after to give Neville the win.

9:39PM: Neville def. Jack Gallagher to retain the Cruiserweight Championship

9:42PM: Backstage we have a suprise interview with Paul Heyman. Paul says that Brock is allowed at the event tonight, but he can’t confirm or deny if he will show up. He also claims that no matter who wins tonight, Brock will win in the end.

9:44PM: The New Day come out, with an ICE CREAM BIKE! They say that they will have ice cream when they are hosting Wrestlemania. That ends the segment.

9:55PM: Roman Reigns vs Braun Stroman

After Braun said he wanted more of a challenge, he gets exactly that tonight! Braun Stroman squares off against Roman Reigns! Crowd gives Roman very loud boo’s as he enters the building. Reigns is struggling in this match as Stroman goes about his business. Stroman hit a Samoan Drop, a splash, and many other moves to wear down Reigns. Reigns slowly starts to make his comeback by dodging moves. Stroman tries to dive onto Reigns in the corner but Roman dodges and Stroman hits the post. Roman hits a drive by a few minutes later. Reigns tries for the spear through the barricade but Stroman picks up Reigns and slams him through an announce table. Later on, Stroman heads to the TOP ROPE and tries for something but Roman dodges. He hits the spear right after for a 3 count to end the match.

10:14PM: Roman Reigns def. Braun Stroman

(FUN FACT: This is the first singles loss that Braun Stroman has ever taken.)

10:17PM: Backstage we see Mick Foley talking to Joe saying that he doesn’t want Joe helping Owens out in the main event. Joe does not say anything, he just walks away.

10:23PM: Charlotte vs Bayley (RAW Women’s Championship Match)

The RAW Women’s Championship gets defended in our second-last match tonight. Charlotte walks out with Dana Brooke, but tells Dana to go backstage before she is done walking off the ramp. Charlotte’s undefeated 1-0n-1 PPV record is really emphasized by the commentators.

Bayley showed dominance at the start of the match. So much so that Charlotte had to run outside the ring to catch a breather at one point. Charlotte does regain control though when Bayley decided to go outside the ring too.

They battle back and forth for nearly 20 minutes. But as the fight continues, Sasha Banks runs down to the ring all of the sudden. She attacks Charlotte but the bell does not get rung. Bayley hits a Bayley-2-Belly outside the ring, then does it once more inside the ring for the pin.

I don’t get how this match didn’t end via DQ. The crowd sounded confused and quiet for that crowd finish. WTF happened.

10:44PM: Bayley def. Charlotte to retain the RAW Women’s Championship

10:53PM: Goldberg vs Kevin Owens (WWE Universal Championship Match)

FINALLY! It’s time for our main event of the evening! Goldberg faces the champ Kevin Owens! Goldberg chants erupt throughout the arena as Goldberg makes his entrance. Kevin Owens also gets a big reaction from the crowd, but not as much as Goldberg did.

Here we go! Just before the ref rings the bell, Owens steps out of the ring for a quick timeout. The more time he takes outside the ring, the more heat the crowd gives him. Kevin Owens finally mans up and gets in the ring for the match. Jericho’s music hits just as the bell rings, and Goldberg hits his Spear and Jackhammer to become the NEW Universal Champion as Chris Jericho watches from the ramp. WOW. Lots of stuff to discuss tomorrow on Monday, but I gotta sleep.

That wraps up the show!

2017 Elimination Chamber Live Coverage

Hello folks! My name is Jack Wannan and I will be doing coverage for the 2017 Elimination Chamber PPV throughout the night! Make sure to come back periodically for updates and recaps on what goes on during the show! Also be sure to keep track of the team on social media tonight! Follow @MindofCarnage and @JackWannan on Twitter!

6:50PM: The kickoff show starts at 7PM EST and can be viewed for free. Here is the think to the kickoff show:

7:00PM: The kickoff show is live and starts with the analyst desk conversing. The desk consists of Renee Young, Booker T, Sam Roberts, and Carmella. Dasha is backstage at the Social Media Lounge and will interview Becky Lynch later. We get a look at the NEW Elimination Chamber. It looks more square, and larger. It has good square zones for jumping, above every chamber.

7:08PM: Here is what the new Chamber looks like:

7:27PM: While the kickoff show panel is underway, James Ellesworth walks into frame and says that he got him and Carmella skybox tickets. Carmella uses this as an excuse to leave the analyst desk, and takes off her microphone. Ellesworth is wearing his golden outfit that was picked out a few weeks ago. The kickoff match and the Becky Lynch interview are still to come.

7:34PM: It’s time for the Becky Lynch interview in the social media lounge with Dasha. First question is “Are you excited to disarm Mickie James?” in which Becky replied with “Yes”. “If you could tag team with anybody” was the next question, with Lynch replying “Shawn Michaels” because she could be the “Armbreak kid”. Third question was if she watched any old Mickie matches to prepare for the match. Lynch said yes and praised what James has done in the past. That wrapped up the interview.

7:41PM: Curt Hawkins vs Mojo Rawley

It’s time for our Kickoff match! The four commentators that we usually get for Smackdown Live are calling this match. This match is an odd pairing, but maybe a story could develop from this match. Let’s see. The only beef that these two have is some shots and Hawkins fired on Twitter recently. Still not sure what Hawkins’ character is. The match has a very slow pace right as it starts. 2 minutes into the match Mojo barely beats a 10 count, getting in the ring at 8. We go to a 1 minute commercial break. Slow back and forth action continues. Mojo mounts a comeback with a Stinger Splash and a stomach-first slam. Pin attempt after is kicked out. Hawkins responds with a Downward Spiral. Mojo kicks out of that move too. Mojo reverses a move that Hawkins was setting up for, and hits a running punch and slam to get the win at 8 minutes and 3 seconds.

This wraps up the pre-show coverage. The rest of the show is on the WWE Network

7:53PM: Mojo Rawley defeats Curt Hawkins (8:03)

Post Match Interview:

8:00PM: The PPV is live! It starts with an Elimination Chamber hype video. We get the cool pyro as usual, then we go to our first match, Becky Lynch vs Mickey James.

8:03PM: Becky Lynch vs Mickie James

The two go into a tie-up at the start of the match. The tie-up continues until they both roll outside the ring. The two of them walk back into the ring and continue the match. The two fight outside the ring again just a minute later. Mickey is targeting the arms quite often early on in the match. Mickey shows lots of dominance throughout the first 5 minutes of the match. Crowd nearly silent during the mid part of this match. Becky makes a comeback 8 minutes into the match and hits the Exploder Suplex. A noticeable cut starts bleeding on Mickie’s left elbow.  Becky continues to sell her arm very well. James hits the Mick Kick and goes for the pin. Lynch kicks out. Becky makes another comeback and tries for the Disarmer. James tries to reverse into a roll up pin, but Lynch responds with a roll-up of her own to win the match. The match ends after 11 minutes of competition.

8:18PM: Becky Lynch defeats Mickie James

8:19PM: Dasha is in the Carmella and Ellesworth Skybox and Carmella says that the “wrong woman won” that match.

8:21PM: Apollo Crews and Kalisto vs Dolph Ziggler

As Kalisto makes his entrance, Ziggler throws Kalisto against the entrance wall. Kalisto is too injured to compete, and the match is now Crews vs Ziggler. Ziggler has control of the match for the first few minutes. Kalisto heals up and joins the match at the 7 minute mark. I guess it was a 2-on-1 the whole time? Apollo Crews gets the pin after 7 minutes of fighting. After the match, Ziggler continues to fight. He takes down Kalisto and Crews, and wedges a chair on one of Crews’ feet. He stomps on the ankle, and Crews sells it like murder. He decides to do it once more. Ziggler walks off and we cut to commercials.

8:35 PM: Apollo Crews and Kalisto defeat Ziggler

Post Match Interview:

8:36 PM: Tag Team Turmoil Match

It’s time for our first title match of the night, the tag team turmoil match! The tag team turmoil match starts with Heath Slater and Rhyno versus The Fashion Police, AKA Fandango and Tyler Breeze. Good back and forth action between these two teams lasts quite an amount of time. Fandango pins Heath Slater who was the illegal man in the ring. As Fandango gets up, he eats a Gore from Rhyno got eliminate the two. The Vaudevillians come out next to face Slater and Rhyno. After only a couple minutes, The Vaudevillians get eliminated by Heath Slater. The Usos are the next challengers. The Usos eliminate Heath Slater and Rhyno and American Alpha come out next. These two teams get much more time than the last two teams. Jason Jordan gets a hot tag and starts going crazy. Gable tags in as The Usos are stills fighting Jason. Chad Gable walks in the ring and gets a roll-up to eliminate The Usos. After being eliminated The Usos beat up American Alpha and they do it well. A Frogsplash onto Jason Jordan ends the brawl. The Ascension make their way to the ring once the brawl finally ends.

The Ascension try to pick the scraps but American Alpha still have some fight left in them. American Alpha make a comeback and win the match via Grand Amplitude. They retain their Tag Team Championships. I was not that interested in this match, and I found it kind of lame. Maybe this was just because I was hoping for The Revival to debut in this match.

9:00PM: American Alpha win Tag Team Turmoil

9:06PM: Nikki Bella vs Natalya

The second out of the trio of Women’s Matches is Nikki Bella vs Natalya, and it’s the next match on the card! This match had very slow paced back and forth action. The crowd did not react to anything that was going on. Nikki Bella’s mother and brother are shown ringside during this match. Nikki Bella gets fired up after Nattie says “You can’t see me bitch”. Nikki’s comeback does not last long as Natalya regains the advantage minutes later. Later on both wrestlers trade blows on the top rope, and Natalya hits a Superplex. Nikki Bella goes for John Cena’s trademark submission move the “STF” for the second time, but Natalya escapes again. The two of them brawl outside the ring until the ref calls a double countout. The brawl outside the ring looked like blatant stalling. Before the countout, we saw Nikki make a last ditch attempt to run in the ring, but Natalya stopped her, hence the double countout. But what’s interesting is that Nikki did maybe the slowest run ever to the ring. It was painfully obvious what the finish to the match would be. After the match we get a brawl, ending with Natalya running away as the ref holds Nikki back.

9:22PM: Nikki Bella vs Natalya ends in a double countout

9:22PM: Carmella, still in the Skybox, says that the two who were wrestling have “Major issues’ and are out of control, and Ellesworth says the same thing

9:29PM: Randy Orton vs Luke Harper

It’s Family vs Family up next when Luke Harper faces Randy Orton! 8 minutes into the match Luke Harper does a mini-Swanton over the ropes (whatever it’s called) and a big boot to follow. Randy kicks out. Orton’s trademarked rope DDT gets reversed by Harper right after. Luke Harper further showcases his highflying with a Tope Suicida, sending Orton over the German commentary table. Harper follows that up by throwing Orton down onto the English table. Orton and Harper re-enter the ring at the 7 count. Orton reverses Harper into a very big Superplex. The first part of the match was slow, but this part really caught my attention. Minutes after the Superplex, Orton calls for an RKO. Harper gets up and nails Orton with a Superkick. A second one follows. Orton kicks out at 2 and a half. Harper goes for a Powerbomb that leads to a kickout. The crowd is very intruiged by the match at this point. Harper trying for a clothesline gets reversed into an RKO out of nowhere for the win. What a match this was! I loved it.

9:48PM: Randy Orton def. Luke Harper

9:52PM: A fight breaks out backstage between Natalya and Nikki Bella.

9:52PM: Naomi vs Alexa Bliss (Smackdown Women’s Championship Match)

The Women’s Championship sees a new challenger in Naomi. Will the champion Alexa Bliss still be able to call herself #1 by the end of the night? Let’s find out! Early on in the match it is apparent that Naomi is giving Alexa Bliss a run for her money. The match stays back and forth as it heads past the 10 minute mark. At one point Alexa Bliss throws a temper tantrum out of frustration. The Twisted Bliss gets reversed by Naomi putting her knees up. Naomi reverses and hits a moonsault off the turnbuckle to win the championship and become the new Smackdown Women’s champion. Even though it was a great match, it seemed like a bit of an ugly finish. Seemed like Naomi’s legs landed on Bliss’ side. Anyways, after the match Naomi gets interviewed and gives a very good, short promo. Crowd was very happy about this. This was a good quick title match. I am very happy to see Naomi as champ.

10:07PM: Naomi def. Alexa Bliss to become new Champion

10:07PM: Carmella gets interviewed again in the Skybox. Dasha gets immediately sent out of the Skybox because they were annoyed that they were repeatedly being interviewed.

10:14PM: It is time for the Elimination Chamber match!

It is time for the Elimination Chamber match! AJ Styles and John Cena will start in the ring, as the other four competitors are in chambers, awaiting their entrance. The two wrestlers trade moves for five minutes, and then the next entrant comes in. That next entrant is Dean Ambrose! Ambrose goes right after Cena. Lots of fighting happens outside the ring in the floored area. Ambrose stands above his pod and jumps down with an Elbow onto Cena. Ambrose has control for the most part, until Bray Wyatt becomes the fourth entrant. Wyatt clears house when he enters. Styles climbs up the Chamber with Cena. They climb to a part of the cage higher than the pods. They trade blows, until Cena crashes onto the ground. Styles walks over to a pod where Dean Ambrose is standing. They both bash their heads on the plexiglass on the wall above the pod. Ambrose falls off, while Styles stays resting above the pod. Bray Wyatt delivers 3 man Superplex with Ambrose and Styles involved. The next entrant comes in, being Baron Corbin. As the final entrant The Miz walks into the ring, Baron Corbin gets eliminated by Ambrose via roll-up. Out of frustration Corbin beats up Ambrose even more, throwing Ambrose THROUGH the plexiglass of one pod. The refs try their best to get Corbin out of there, but he continues the assault. Corbin hits the End of Days on Ambrose, then finally decides to leave the ring.

The Miz pins Ambrose in the middle of the ring, taking advantage of what Corbin did, eliminating Ambrose. The crowd boo’d quite a bit for that elimination. The Miz does more “YES” chants, mocking Daniel Bryan. John Cena eliminates The Miz, then tries to eliminate Styles. Styles reverses an AA into a Styles Clash. A minute later, Cena gets on top of a pod and delivers a cross body onto Bray and Styles. Bray Wyatt hits the Sister Abgail on Cena after reversing an AA, pins Cena and eliminates John Cena! This means that we will have a new champion tonight!

It’s down to two. Bray Wyatt and AJ Styles. Styles hits a Springboard 450, but Wyatt kicks out. A minute later, a Phenominal Forearm gets reversed into a Sister Abgail, for Bray Wyatt to become the newest WWE Champion! What a match this was! What a great finish to the match. Loved it.

11:02PM: Bray Wyatt wins the Elimination Chamber and becomes the WWE Champion

That wraps up tonights coverage! Thanks for following along! Make sure to follow me on Twitter @JackWannan to see what I am up to, and follow Mind of Carnage @MindofCarnage to see what the site is up to!
