Big E would speak to WWE.com about his new role and where he got the idea for it.
WWE.COM: So, what led to you offering yourself up as a wedding officiant?
I recently learned that I would have a lot of time off. I really don’t do well with a lot of idle time. A couple of weeks ago, we just had WrestleMania, which kept me really busy. Then, we had about six days off, which was fitting, and then TV.
I’m ready to work. I don’t do well with idle time. My head was spinning, thinking “What am I going to do with all these days off?” I don’t really want to take a vacation. I’m bored just being in the house. I think I was talking about it in the locker room, [and] I actually have to give all credit to Enzo Amore. He came up with this idea. As soon as I heard it, I thought “This is kind of ridiculous, but kind of phenomenal, as well.” So, I gave it some thought, ran it by a couple of my friends, got their feedback. I couldn’t really think of a reason not to do it and got even more excited about the prospect.
WWE.COM: What excites you the most about this?
It’s one of those things that’s absurd and random, but also delightful and heartwarming in its own way. Why not? I just booked my flight to LA; I’ll be there for a week. The cool thing is I’ll get to see some friends, do some things I’ve been meaning to do for a while. Then, I’ll also get to, hopefully, marry a few couples.
Based on reports, Big E received some heat backstage following Monday’s broadcast of Raw due to the comment he made regarding Charlotte Flair.
During the New Day’s entrance Kofi Kingston mentioned that “Ric Flair couldn’t become a 16-time champion without losing the title 15 times.” This is when Big E responded with an improvised off-script remark “and that’ll be Charlotte in a month.”
WWE was said to not be happy about that remark and even cut it for the Youtube highlights as seen below. The comment was said to not go over well with some people in the back.
MOC: Jeez people, I say just calm your butts and take it easy sometimes.
WWE.com is running a work injury angle with Big E following the attack by Club members Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson.
See the article below:
WWE Tag Team Champion Big E suffered an injury at the hands of Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson following their match on Raw, WWE.com can confirm.
After Gallows & Anderson pulled Big E groin-first into the turnbuckle at the end of a post-match brawl between Gallows, Anderson and the entirety of The New Day, the WWE Tag Team Champion was taken to the trainer’s room. He underwent several tests and medical examinations, but WWE officials did not confirm the specifics or severity of Big E’s injury at this time.
UPDATE Aug. 5, 2016: WWE.com can now confirm that Big E suffered a contusion to the affected area. It is unknown at this time when the WWE Tag Team Champion will return to in-ring competition.
The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum recently revealed that WWE Superstar and New Day member Big E. will be attending the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame weekend.
The Hall of Fame and other festivities related to it will take place on July 23rd in Waterloo, Iowa where Big E. will be signing autographs prior to the Hall of Fame ceremony.

Goldust was back on the road with WWE as he appeared on the stage when the WWE roster opened RAW with a moment of silence for the victims of the Paris terror attacks. He’s currently been out of action with a shoulder injury since May.
