Reason Why WWE Signed Drew McIntyre

As reported, Drew McIntyre made a surprise appearance during NXT TakeOver: Orlando as he was shown sitting ringside. WWE would later announce that Drew has in fact returned to the company and signed with NXT.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the deal came at the last minute, with Drew speaking to Triple H either that day, or the day prior. The Observer is also reporting that the main reason why Drew was signed to NXT, was to have someone replace Shinsuke Nakamura when he gets called up to the main roster. There’s also speculation that Drew could potentially win the UK Championship, to get that started.

Drew Galloway Explains Why He Left TNA – “Everything Was So Last Minute”

Former TNA talent Drew Galloway spoke to the Scottish Sun regarding his departure from Impact Wrestling and reveals his decision to leave was not due to financial issues, but timing.

See what he had to say below:

“They came to me last week with an offer and it was very very good one, one of the best in the company and a position as top guy but the reality is that because they waited until the last second I had to turn it down,” Galloway said. “Everything was so last minute. I had to to think about back-up plans and family because it went to the wire. I was surprised I got no heads-up beforehand and when they got in touch last week they wouldn’t accept no for an answer and the financial offer was great so it was a very hard decision to make. If all of this was said three weeks ago I would have signed.”

“They wanted to position me as the top guy in the U.K, across Europe and in the US but it was too little too late. When the news came out I was leaving, the internet response was insane.”

Drew Galloway Out-Of-Action Longer Than Expected

Drew Galloway who suffered a neck injury back in September has gone to twitter and revealed that he may be out of action for longer than anticipated.

Gallows is slated to miss a  few shows in November ranging from NJPW, Revolution Pro Wrestling and an EVOLVE show scheduled on November 12. Gallows at this time is expected to make a return to his normal schedule for November 16th. He is still set to appear at the ICW’s Fear and Loathing event on November 20th.

See his tweet and transcript below (transcript sourced from F4WOnline.com)

“Have some good and not so good news yesterday speaking with the Doctor treating me. Good news is that I will be back to 100 percent and the injury that occurred will have zero affect on me in the future, the bad news is he wants me to wait the full recommended recovery time to ensure, with my physical style in the ring, I will be fully recovered.”

“This will cause me to be unable to compete in my Rev Pro match with Honma I was very much looking forward to, and the Matt Riddle match at Evolve (which will happen ASAP and I guarantee will blow the roof off). I will, however, be at all the shows so come say what’s up and I’ll be back in the ring within a few weeks. Thank you all for your concern and support.”
