Roman Reigns Addresses Fans Who Want Him To Turn Heel And Why He Doesn’t Want To

Roman Reigns was recently interviewed by Christ Jericho on his “Talk His Jericho” podcast. Jericho brought up fan ovation for Roman Reigns and how it’s similar to John Cena and believes that both talents [Roman and John] should never turn heel, because once they do, the audience will change and begin cheering for them.

Here’s what Roman had to say about that:

“The thing is, if I turn heel, what am I? Just like everything that has been done? Why not just be me? No one has ever been like me. This is un-chartered territory, it can be anything that I want it to be, so why put myself on one side of it? Why not just dabble, why not have the full range, do whatever I want, be the guy. That’s how I feel. I am the one writing this at this point now. We are in a position, we can do anything that we want, as long as they make noise.

Have fun man, boo the s*** out of me. If it is making you cooler with this dude and that dude next to you and y’all are having a great night. Please… Say all you want, I am a grown man, you’re not going to hurt my feelings. My wife is not going to think any differently of me”

Stephanie McMahon Reveals That She Once Pushed For A John Cena Heel Turn

Stephanie McMahon was recently interviewed by ESPN’s Cheat Heat in promotion for WrestleMania 33 and revealed that at one point, she was pushing for John Cena to turn heel.

Here’s what she had to say:

“At one point in his career, I really wanted to see him turn heel,” she said. “I wanted it as a fan and I also thought it was the right thing to do, but it turns out I was wrong. And Vince and John…oh yeah, oh yeah, totally, I did. Yeah, but I’m glad that we didn’t go that way, and I think, now, it would be odd for John to turn heel.

When asked if he would ever go heel:

“I guess never say ‘never’ because anything can happen in WWE, but I don’t think I would really miss it. I think that we would miss him. I don’t know that we would miss the heel turn.”

Vince McMahon Prefers Charlotte vs. Bayley Feud – Still Not High On Sasha Banks

Source: F4Wonline.com

Based on reports, WWE wanted to proceed with Bayley vs Charlotte earlier in the year, but decided to postpone it to allow the feud to peak at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando Florida.

Bayley vs. Charlotte is expected to take place at the Royal Rumble and will proceed into WrestleMania 33. WWE officials believe that Bayley is more over as a babyface than Sasha Banks. In addition Vince McMahon is reportedly not high on Sasha for a number of reasons ,hence why her title reign was never planned to be long. McMahon believes Charlotte is a better heel and that financially her feud with Bayley will benefit the company fiscally.

Becky Lynch Says She’s Excited To Turn Heel Someday

WWE Smackdown Live Women’s champion Becky Lynch was a recent guest on the Steve Austin Podcast and spoke about her career.

Here are some highlights:

Lynch’s thoughts on eventual turning heel:

“At the moment, I like working baby. I’m excited for when I turn heel eventually though, when it’s time. When I worked on the indies I never worked baby. Hated it. Always worked heel, so it’s weird for me that I came here and that was a baby.”

Connecting with fans:

“I think it’s that energy. I don’t think it’s anything tangible. I think it’s a passion or I feel like they’re very protective over me as well, which is another thing. I hear a lot of people feel a lot of negativity on their social media and everything like that. I can’t say, thankfully, that I have much of that. They’re protective and I think it’s just my energy. They know that I’m passionate about it because they know that I’ve worked hard for this. And I think it’s a genuineness. They can sense that or something. They can sense that it’s real because people pick up on that stuff.”

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat Says WWE Refused Him Turning Heel

WWE hall of Famer Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat was recently interviewed by The Post and Courier where he claimed WWE would not allow him to turn heel earlier in his career.

Steamboat on WWE refusing to let him turn heel:

“Pat [Patterson] simply told me that it would probably ruin my career… I just wanted to experience what it felt like on the other side of the fence. As we all know, the heels have the most fun out there in the ring.”

Steamboat on the benefits of a heel turn:

“When you are a face for a long time and you turn heel, your stock value immediately goes up, especially if you’re able to pull it off in the ring and on the mic. Then you ride that horse as long as you can. When it starts to falter, and when attendance drops, then you can turn back babyface. And your stock value goes up again. For a year they’ll boo you, and for a year they’ll cheer you.”

Chris Jericho On Not Allowing WWE To Sell His Merchandise When A Playing A Heel

Chris Jericho was recently interviewed by Ted Gruber of FanSided to promote “The Jericho Network.” During the interview Jericho spoke about how he doesn’t want WWE selling Merchandise when he plays a heel.

“I have a real rule that when I’m heel I don’t want the WWE selling my merchandise. I don’t want someone in the crowd wearing a shirt with that phrase and thinking it’s funny when it’s supposed to be an insult. I still have enough old school in me that I don’t want people wearing my slogans or phrases that are supposed to be booing me. Does it really matter? Probably not. But it’s one of those things to me that it does matter. Maybe it will piss you off that there are no shirts out there so it will make you boo or hate me more.”

Is Roman Reigns Teasing A Heel Turn By Attacking The Rock?

Ring Rust Radio’s Donald Wood had the chance to speak with Reigns to promote this Sunday’s WrestleMania 32. Reigns was asked about the Rock  and here’s what he had to say:

“We haven’t spoken too much about wrestling each other. We speak and I do see him quite a bit. We usually exchange different ideas, share different tips and advice.

If I do win on Sunday, there are only a couple of people I want to see, and that would be my wife, daughter, mom and dad. It would be my immediate family. If he comes out there, I might be on high alert, and he might get it too.”

MOC Predictions – WWE 2015 TLC Pay Per View

Embedded image permalink

Hello my glorious Wargods and welcome to MOC’s predictions for this Sunday’s TLC Pay Per View. I hope you’re excited as TLC comes from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

What do we have in line for Sunday, well see below and see if you agree with my predictions.

Ryback vs. Rusev

Singles Match

Holy irrelevance Batman! Ryback vs. Rusev is a match where frankly we don’t care that much about. The Big Guy vs. The Bulgarian Brute, we’ve seen it before and I guarantee this won’t be the last time. As for match outcome, I would say Rusev wins; but with WWE really downgrading the newly aligned League of Nation it’s hard to give Rusev the win just because there may be someone in creative thinking “screw the League of Nations” the big guys always hungry. But, I stay true to my work and think Rusev will come out on top, but not win the match but DQ himself by utilizing some type of weapon and giving the win to Ryback, as Rusev beats on him mercifully.

MOC Prediction: Ryback wins due to DQ

Charlotte (c) (w/ Ric Flair) vs. Paige

-Divas Championship Match-

Singles Match

These two have had some animosity towards one-another and it doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon. Paige vs. Charlotte has gone down before and has delivered a decent match, but now with Ric Flair at ringside you would think that he may somehow get involved. But, I see it differently. You see I don’t see Flair getting involved but Becky Lynch who has been having issues with Charlotte as-of-late and who beat Paige on the go-home edition of Smackdown. Becky has a ton of momentum right now and I can see her getting involved costing Paige the match via DQ by attacked Charlotte. This would only lead to a Triple Threat match at the Royal Rumble for the Divas Title.

MOC Prediction: Charlotte wins due to Becky Lynch interference.

Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Jack Swagger

-United States Championship-

Chairs Match

Here we go with a gimmick match for the TLC pay per view. Chair for everyone!

Swagger is getting his mild push he usually gets this time of year and is going 1-on-1 with the man who just got rid of Zeb Colter, who was Jack Swaggers old manager. That builds a question if Zeb will have a role in the outcome of this match, and if he does who does he help? It’s hard to guess if he will or no, or if the angle on Raw was just a way to swerve us into thinking that Del Rio is legitimately on his own. I wouldn’t be surprised if Zeb does come down to the ring and tries to help Swagger out but in the end costs him the match, not intentionally but accidentally. He tries for the “we the people” taunt, but Del Rio catches Swagger from behind due to the distraction and gets a win over him.

MOC Prediction: Alberto Del Rio (Retains) – Real American’s Reunite

Team ECW ( Dudleyz, Dreamer & Rhyno) vs. Team Wyatt (Bray, Luke, Erick & Braun)

8 Man Tornado Elimination Tables Match

Team ECW consisting of older talents who have a decent following versus Team Wyatt, a group of guys who I’m pretty sure are descendants of trees and bears.

This will be a messy and EXTREME match consisting of weapons, weapons and more weapons. But you have to question; how many weapons or extreme can either group get in a PG rated environment? Anyways I won’t get into that as I’m pretty sure this match will deliver no matter what. As for who comes out on top, I have to go with Team Wyatt and the reason is becuase they desperately need the win. Following Survivor Series where the Brothers of Destruction just embarrassed the Wyatt’s, they need momentum on their side and facing off against Team ECW and beating them is that momentum they deserve. I will expect a few of them to be eliminated but in the end I go for the Wyatt’s on this one, otherwise; what’s the point of their “face of fear” gimmick.

MOC Prediction: The Wyatt Family

The Usos vs. Lucha Dragons vs. The New Day (c)

-WWE Tag Team Championship-

Triple Threat Ladder Match

This is probably going to be considered one of the highlight matches of the night. Especially with almost all members of each time loving air time. Something tells me that we’ll see a ton of big spots and a ton of ladders being used. Wouldn’t surprise me if New Day also pulled off a ladder move where Kofi stood on Big E’s shoulders going for the belts. But as for winners, I still see New Day retaining and one of the main reasons why… Xavier Woods. The third man who usually gets involved in the matches wouldn’t surprise me if he also got involved in this one as well. For that reason alone, I’m going for New Day.

MOC Prediction: The New Day (Retain)

Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dean Ambrose

-WWE Intercontinental Championship-

Singles Match

There’s been a ton of momentum for Dean Ambrose as of late especially as he’s involved in various story-lines with Roman Reigns, League of Nations and Kevin Owens. He now gets the opportunity to go after the IC title. Owens and Dean can make for an aggressive match and with no doubt both of these guys will deliver, but will Dean come out on top?

As much as I want to say yes, I don’t see it happening. At least not winning the title. I predict League of Nations will somehow get involved costing Dean Ambrose his match and thus continuing the concept of “when you’re friends with Roman Reigns, this is what happens to you.” Dean leaves annoyed that he once again couldn’t get the job done. Will this be the last time we see him that night?

MOC Prediction: Dean Ambrose via DQ (Kevin Owens Retains)

Sheamus (c) vs. Roman Reigns

-WWE World Heavyweight Championship-

TLC Match

In a TLC match you have to expect something. So it wouldn’t be of any surprise if the League of Nation was at ringside or decided to interfer in this match. But, considering Roman Reigns has held the advantage over the League of Nation for the last few weeks, I think he’ll continue to get the upper hand. That is until all of them decide to attack Roman Reigns.

This allows for Dean Ambrose & the Usos (if able) to make a run in and save their friend. Both stables battle it out until Roman and Dean Ambrose are left in the ring with Sheamus. But before anything can happen Dean attacks Roman Reigns and lands his dirty deeds leaving him laid out in the middle of the ring. It appears being friends with Roman Reigns isn’t worth the hassle.

Dean leaves, and Sheamus climbs to the top of the ladder and retains his WWE championship.

MOC Prediction: Sheamus (Retains) – Dean turns Heel

Those are my predictions for this Sunday’s PPV and yes they’re bold, but frankly why not! Go bold or go home.

EC3 Talks About Being A Good Heel

Ethan Carter III recently spoke with Busted Open Radio, and spoke about what makes him a good heel.

Here’s what he had to say:

“I just don’t do cool moves. I know what you guys are saying and it’s very difficult, in this day and age especially, because some of the audience is – they like their villains, they like their antagonists. Probably because when you play that role, you can come out of your shell a lot more and maybe – I don’t want to say be more entertaining – be outside yourself more, be out there more. Some fans attract to that, but when people boo me, that was a compliment because I work to get those….Most of the time the fans enjoy booing me and it’s not negative ‘They don’t want to see me’. It’s they want to see me get what’s coming to me and I think that’s really important. I think a lot of times a lot of guys coming up – the guys that you’re supposed to cheer, the guys that you’re supposed to boo – the guys that you’re supposed to boo are doing heroic things and very impressive things and it’s hard to dislike a guy who’s beating everybody cleanly with his finish. It’s hard to dislike a guy who’s spouting off funny comments when he grabs a guy in a hold, you know? It’s hard to dislike that because it’s entertaining. It’s very hard to dislike cool-ass moves because they’re cool-ass moves and cool-ass moves are cool. If you’re an antagonist that’s cool, it kind of defeats the purpose a little bit so for me, personally, I try to stay away from that. I try to see where other heels, bad guys, villains are going and what they’re doing and I just try to be the opposite of it as much as possible. But even for me, when I’m doing promos, wrestling matches, it comes to a time where I have to do things to at least have some credibility attached to what I’m doing. It’s a very slippery slope as well, but I just got to find the right balance, I think.”
