Jeff Jarrett Talks iMPACT Wrestling Filming In India

During a recent interview with the Wrestling Compadres Slamcast, Jeff Jarrett spoke on iMPACT Wrestling filming in India.

Here’s what he had to say:

“It is the first time to my knowledge that a US based wrestling organization is going to India, and are actually producing four episodes that will be seen globally. To my knowledge that is the first time ever that a company has done that. We are very excited. Sony Six is our partner over there. Grey Matter is a production company that we have partnered with and they have done lots of hours throughout India producing lots of programming so we are super excited. The crew is headed over, everyone is super excited. In 2012-2013, we filmed Ring Ka King a few years ago, hugely successful, changing regime prevented season two.”

World Tallest Traffic Cop Wants To Become A WWE Wrestler

Rajesh Kumar is a 39 year old police officer in India who stands a whopping 7 feet 4 inches tall and wants to become a WWE Wrestler.

Kumar is known around his hometown of Gurgoan India as the Gentle Giant. Fans pose for selfies and even claim that Rajesh has become somewhat of a minor celebrity.

Kumar had this to say about becoming a WWE Wrestler:

I want to emulate the success of The Great Khali who was also recruited as a police official with the Punjab Police.

“My aim is to be a wrestler of world repute just like him. I want to take part in the World Wrestling Entertainment.

“I love my job as a cop but wrestling is my passion.

Top TNA Executives Head To India For Business Purposes

Several top TNA Wrestling executives, including TNA President Dixie Carter, John Gaburick and Eric Sherman are heading to India this weekend for business meetings with Indian broadcast partner SONY 6.

Gaburick is TNA Executive Vice President of Creative & Talent Relations, while Sherman is TNA Entertainment’s Chief Strategy Officer.

Two Newly Signed Talents Set To Debut On NXT In January

Former World Kabbadi League Champion Lovepreet Sangha and two-time Kushti National Heavyweight Champion Satender Ved Pal are scheduled to debut with WWE NXT at the New Delhi, India events on January 15th and 16th. The two of them signed WWE developmental deals back in June and have been training at the WWE Performance Center.

WWE has announced the full line-ups for their two live events in New Delhi, India on January 15th and 16th.

Both events are being headlined by John Cena.

It should be noted that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, U.S. champion Alberto Del Rio, and IC champion Kevin Owens are not advertised at the events.

WWE Drops Macho Man Gimmick, FOX Working On Pro-Wrestling Drama & Daniel Bryan In India

— FOX is working on a professional wrestling-themed drama titled, “The Work.”

The series is being written by Scott O’Connor. Scott is the individual who wrote an article on Brock Lesnar around this year’sSummerSlam event that was published by the New York Times.

While there is no official premiere date for the show, it will be competing with the NBC MMA series, Warrior.”

WWE Network Set To Launch In India On November 2nd

WWE issued the following:

Beginning Monday, Nov. 2, WWE Network will be available in India for $9.99 (U.S.) per month, with no commitment and the ability to cancel any time. Fans in India can sign up online by going to WWENetwork.com, and can watch WWE Network on their desktop, laptop and mobile devices.

WWE Network subscribers in India will receive their first month of service free and have access to the U.S. English language version of WWE Network. Subscribers will get access to 24/7 scheduled programming and the most comprehensive video-on-demand library with more than 3,700 hours of content, including Raw and SmackDown re-airs, and every WWE, WCW and ECW pay-per-view. In addition, all 12 WWE pay-per-views will be available to subscribers 24 hours after they air in India, and will be broadcast live on WWE Network beginning in 2017.

“India is a strategically important market for WWE, and we are thrilled to make WWE Network available to our fans there,” said George Barrios, WWE Chief Strategy & Financial Officer. “The global expansion of WWE Network is a key driver in our commitment to growing the WWE brand internationally.”

WWE Network will be made available on additional devices, including Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Sony PlayStation 3, Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Roku and Smart TVs prior to Survivor Series on Sunday, Nov. 22.

TNA Heading to India For International Tour

TNA issued the following:

Mumbai (Monday October 5, 2015): TNA Wrestling, in partnership with Sony SIX, are delighted to announce that India’s own Mahabali Shera, along with fellow TNA Stars EC3 and Rebel, will travel to India later this month for an extensive international media tour – during which they will make a key announcement about TNA in the region.

The trio will be accompanied by TNA’s Executive Vice President of Television and Talent Relations John Gaburick, who is using to the trip to search for Indian talent to join Shera on the TNA roster.

This expansive week-long promotional tour will span four major cities. It kicks off in Mumbai on October 19, before heading to Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

TNA fans in India can look forward to meeting and interacting with their favorite wrestlers at a series of promotional events in each city. They will also get a close-up view of the TNA Stars soaking up the diverse local cultural experiences in each location.

This year’s promotional tour, follows 2014’s momentous unveiling of TNA’s first ever Indian wrestler, Shera – after a year-long search led by TNA Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold Medallist Kurt Angle.

During his visit to India, Kurt selected and mentored Shera, welcoming him into the elite faction of theTNA global talent roster and further growing the popularity of professional wrestling in India.

Backstage News on TNA Heading To India In Late 2015

According to sources, TNA is planning to tour India in late 2015. The deal is not finalized, but the plan is to go to India and tape TV, “built around Mahabili Sheera as the conquering hero.” This is the reason for his big push as of late.

The talent has not been told that the tour is official, and the only dates that they know for sure are the recently announced live events. Talent are basically on call and waiting for official details. They are allowed to take outside bookings, but would have to cancel if TNA books a show.

Triple H Welcome To New Recruits From India Two The Performance Center

Triple H announced on twitter that Lovepreet Sangha and Satender, two athletes from India, have begun training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
