Pre-Thoughts On WWE Raw – July 31, 2017

Before tonight’s WWE Raw broadcast, I thought I would go through the previews from WWE.com and give my thoughts on what we can expect tonight.

Three’s A Crowd

WWE announced last week that at this years SummerSlam PPV, Brock Lesnar will face his biggest challenge yet when he defends his WWE Universal Championship not only against 1 man, but three. Lesnar is set to face Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe & Braun Strowman in a Fatal-4-way match at the biggest party of the summer. But before the big PPV match, WWE announced that on tonight’s WWE Raw broadcast, Roman, Joe and Braun will take part in a triple threat match. Let’s be honest, this is gonna be a hard hitting match which may end with all three men just brawling it out.

In my opinion Braun will have to be showcased as the biggest challenge for everyone involved in the match. Roman and Joe will team together to hopefully bring Braun down but in the end he’ll over power. I foresee this match as being the highlight of the show, and as stated, I feel the ending will not be clean and all men go on an all-out brawl to end the show. This only strengthens the story between the men and builds anticipation.

Jason Jordan Speaks Out On Miz TV

After finding out that Kurt Angle is Jason’s father who didn’t know about him, he’s had much more attention on him. Last week he had his singles debut on Raw against Curt Hawkins and safe to say he won that. But tonight he’s the special guest on Miz TV and there are a couple of angles this could go.

1 – WWE could surprise us all and make Jordan go after the IC title.

2 – WWE could tag both Rollins and Ambrose with Jason to face Miz’ Miztourage possible at Summerslam.

In my honest opinion I feel WWE will have Jason team with the former Shield members to take on the new stable. It at least shows his stance in the roster and that he too doesn’t want to put up with Miz’ crap. So during tonight’s Miz TV segment, I see Miz trying to down talk Jason which in the long run will make Jason take Miz out.

Brothers in Arms

For the last few weeks Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have appeared to be on the same page. This comes after Ambrose showed he was still skeptical of Rollins following his back-stab on The Shield three years ago. But the common saying goes, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend,” and these two seemed to have at least set aside their issues to work together.

The one idea I had as stated above with Jason Jordan, is that Rollins and Dean will be used in the MizTV segment which will in turn lead to a temporary alliance with the new son of Kurt Angle, Jason Jordan. This could technically lead to a six-man tag at Summerslam, which I know not many WWE fans want, but in all honesty it’s at least a story angle these guys are working towards. Eventually one will go after the IC title, but until then it’ll be interesting to see how this angle proceeds and what role Jason will play in it.

Hardy Boyz & “Good brothers,” meet Team Red’s “top guys”

I’ll admit it, I’m a big Revival fan. I love the team tactics & strategy. Dash and Dawson really bring back the term team work as they make sure to cut that ring in half, and always work a certain body part to make that one talent vulnerable. Now they get to work with other well known teams such as the Hardy’s and Gallows & Anderson.

In my opinion I see Vince truly backing the Revival as a team, and will at one point give them a Raw title run. But for now, they have to work towards that, and it wouldn’t surprise me if WWE pin Revival vs. The Club vs. Hardy’s for a #1 contendership for Sheamus & Cesaro’s Raw Tag Team Titles. Though I feel WWE will want Revival & Hardy’s to have a few matches before any of those two get title shots yet again. So if anything The Clubs (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) will get the next title opportunity and Revival vs. Hardy’s will be an ongoing feud potentially leading to Summerslam.

Balor to Bray “Let’s Play”

Bray Wyatt has made it clear that Finn Balor is on his hit-list. This though is gonna be interesting because in all honesty, when was the last time Finn Balor came out as “the demon?” Last I recall he was the Demon during the Summerslam match against Seth Rollins for the universal championship. So in all honesty, it’s a bit overdue. This is why I think WWE has pinned these two together. Have Bray draw the negative (demon) out of Balor.

This Summerslam I feel will be the return of Demon Balor, and this feud between him and Bray will only grow slowly during Raw. We saw Bray screw Balor over last week, during the no DQ match, so in all honesty I foresee Finn having some tricks up his sleeve.

Well, those are my thoughts for tonight’s WWE Raw broadcast, and what I feel will happen tonight. They’ll be a ton more action waiting to happen. Make sure to follow me on twitter at @MindofCarnage to interact with me live during the show.

WWE RAW 5/15/17 Live Coverage

Hello and welcome to another live coverage article. Today we will be recapping and episode of Monday Night RAW for you. You know the drill, follow the timestamps to stay updated through the night.

Also make sure to follow the team on Twitter:

7:45PM: Get ready! Show starts in 15 minutes.

8:00PM: The show this week begins with a recap of what happened last week on RAW with Braun Stroman and Roman Reigns. For anyone who missed it, Reigns and Stroman did another epic brawl. Stroman ended up losing this fight. After that we get the usual pyro and intro. The show this week is at Newark, New Jersey. We cut to the arena where Kurt Angle is coming to the ring.

He thanks the crowd for the warm welcome and welcomes them to Monday Night RAW. He then starts talking about the Roman Reigns and Braun Stroman beef. He gives us an update on Braun Stroman, saying that he might be out of action for up to 6 months. Because of his injury, he has to pick a new contender to face Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire. He announces that a Fatal-Five-Way at Extreme Rules will figure out who faces Brock. The competitors for this 5-man match are Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, and Roman Reigns.

Just as Angle is leaving the ring, he gets interrupted by Roman’s music. Roman stands in the ring with a mic and says that we don’t need a fatal-five way match since he is the #1 contender. Showered with boos, he mentions that he beat Undertaker at Wrestlemania, he put Stroman in an ambulance, and he is the only one who can beat Roman. After that, Finn Balor comes out with a mic too. Finn says that the line starts behind him. Roman and Finn exchange words, until Samoa Joe’s music interrupts them. Joe cuts a quick promo, but Bray Wyatt interrupts him. As Wyatt speaks, you guessed it, Seth Rollins comes out.

After everyone cuts their promos, a big brawl breaks out. Finn wins the brawl and his music hits afterwards.

8:22PM: Jeff Hardy vs Sheamus

It’s time for our first match of the evening. The first few minutes of this match happen over a commercial break. The commentators say that over the break it’s been “all Sheamus”. Jeff Hardy starts gaining momentum for a comeback. Sheamus counters the comeback with a rough brouge kick for a 2 count. Sheamus kicks Hardy to the floor, then tries for something off the top rope, but Hardy reverses it into a Stunner. Two count for that move. He then hits a Twist of Fate then a Swanton Bomb for the win.

8:34PM: Jeff Hardy def. Sheamus

8:41PM: Sasha Banks vs Alicia Fox

Alicia Fox faces Sasha Banks as our second match tonight. Noam Dar is ringside supporting Fox tonight. Alicia Fox hits Sasha Banks with a great Scissor Kick for the win. Very impressive move.

8:46PM: Alicia Fox def. Sasha Banks

8:53PM: The Miz vs Dean Ambrose (Intercontinental Championship Match)

The Miz tries to take Dean’s gold in the next match. As what happened to the Hardy/Sheamus match, the start of this match was cut by commercials too. When we come back from the break, the two are both still trading moves. Miz gets thrown outside the ring, then Ambrose does a Suicide Dive to the outside. A very near fall happens via roll-up back inside the ring. Dean hits his Elbow off the top rope but it also gets a kickout. As the ref is looking at Maryse, Miz tries for a low blow. Ambrose blocks it, and hits The Miz with a low blow himself. Except, the ref sees that low blow. The Miz wins the match, but since it’s via DQ, Dean Ambrose retains his title.

9:06PM: The Miz def. Dean Ambrose (Ambrose retains IC Title)

9:14PM: Alexa Bliss is in the ring with a mic. She calls Newark the “Sweatland” of America. She continues to brag and boast, but Bayley eventually cuts her off. The two trade words, with Alexa telling Bayley to back off. Bayley gets angry and attacks Alexa. Bliss beats down Bayley and finds a Kendo Stick under the ring. Bayley gets hit in the back with Kendo once as Alexa celebrates in the ring.

9:28PM: Backstage The Miz is furious at Kurt Angle. Angle gives him a match against Dean at Extreme Rules for the belt. As they argue, The Drifter shows up playing his guitar.

9:30PM: Neville and TJP vs Jack Gallagher and Austin Aries

At the halfway point of the show it is time for a Cruiserweight Division match. Gallagher does a dive outside the ring before we go to break. After the break it is Neville and Aries in the ring. Gallagher and TJP get the hot tag. As the brawl between Neville and Aries continues outside the ring, Gallagher hits a headbutt onto TJP. After that, Neville grabs the leg of Gallagher. As Gallagher is distracted, TJP swoops in and hits the Detonation Kick for the win.

9:43PM: Neville and TJP def. Jack Gallagher and Austin Aries

9:59PM: Finn Balor vs Roman Reigns

As set up by Kurt Angle earlier backstage, Finn Balor will face Roman Reigns. This match was described as “very physical” when we came back from the commercial break. Reigns went straight into a steel post which hurt one of his arms for this match. As the two are brawling outside the ring, Roman catches Finn and drives him back first into the post. Back in the ring, the two continue to reverse each others moves. Balor hits his Swingblade then tries to hit his Coup De Gras but Roman stops him. Roman spears Balor to win the match.

10:15PM: Roman Reigns def. Finn Balor

10:25PM: The Golden Truth make their entrance to the ring. As Truth is doing his “What’s Up?” chants, Golddust attacks him. Golddust does his beatdown for a minute or so. Safe to say that the Golden Truth has broken up.

10:39PM: Big Cass vs Titus O’Neil.

Enzo and Cass are cutting their promo in the ring for the match, but they get interrupted by Titus O’Neil’s music. Titus tries to do a mockery of Enzo’s promo style while hyping up his client Apollo Crews. When they get to the ring, Titus finds out that Apollo isn’t fighting, he is. The bell rings and Titus is fighting in a suit. A Big Boot from Cass finishes the match off early.

10:41PM: Big Cass def. Titus O’Neil

10:51PM: Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins

It is now time for our main event of the evening, Bray Wyatt versus Seth Rollins. These two put on a good match. Seth Rollins hit a nice Blockbuster on Bray but did not go for a pin afterwards. Later on Bray tries for a Sister Abgail but Seth reverses it into a kick. Bray hits Rollins with a hard clothesline for a 2 count. The fight makes it’s way outside the ring, and out of nowhere comes Samoa Joe. Joe ends the match via DQ and starts attacking Seth. As Joe is still standing around, Bray hits a Sister Abgail to him. Bray then Sister Abgail’s Seth. The show ends with Bray doing his pose. Follow the buzzards.

11:08PM: Seth Rollins def. Bray Wyatt (VIA DQ)

11:08PM: Show end
