Roman Reigns is not scheduled for any WWE live events this weekend. It’s likely due to his older brother Matt “Rosey” Anoa’i passing away earlier this week at the age of 47. During tonight’s opening segment on Monday Night Raw, Kurt Angle made it official and announced that at Payback on April 30th, at the SAP Center in San Jose, California Braun Strowman will face Roman Reigns.

7:45PM: Get ready! RAW is 15 minutes away!
8:00PM: The show has begun! It kicks off with a recap of the brutal attack on Roman Reigns last week from Braun Stroman. After that, Braun Stroman comes out to the ring, live at Ohio State University this week. The commentary team this week is Corey Graves, Michael Cole and Booker T. On the mic, Braun Stroman brags about what he did to Roman last week. He says that Roman will not be at the event tonight. The crowd does yes chants for that.
Stroman says that tonight he will tear through the locker room. Kurt Angle walks to the ring and says that he shouldn’t do more, but Stroman says “there’s more to come”. Kurt Angle goes on to say that Reigns will face Stroman at the PPV Payback. Stroman shouts “what!?” in a high pitch voice to that.
Kurt Angle then says that tonight Braun will get a night off, but Braun insists to get something. Stroman says that he wants something tonight “or else”. Angle says “Or else what?”, then Braun drops the mic and leaves. Guess we will find out what the “or else” is.
The commentary team discusses what else is on tonight. Miz TV is later, and Chris Jericho vs Samoa Joe is after the break with Seth Rollins on commentary.
8:16PM: Samoa Joe vs Chris Jericho
As mentioned before, Seth Rollins is on the mic during this match. He is hyping his match against Samoa Joe at Payback in 3 weeks. Jericho hit a Lionsault but it got a kickout. Joe was on the second rope and went for some sort of splash but Jericho dodged it then tried for a Walls Of Jericho. He got out of it. He then put Jericho into the Coquina Clutch, which Jericho tried to fight out of, but Jericho eventually tapped.
After the match Joe cut a promo on Seth Rollins, who was standing on the ramp at this point. Seth walks back to the commentary table and stands on top it while he cuts a promo of his own. He ends it by saying “You know what they say, Payback is a bitch”.
8:26PM: Samoa Joe def. Chris Jericho
8:31PM: Backstage are the Golden Truth, who are walking on their way to a match. Out of nowhere comes Braun Stroman who demolishes R-Truth and Golddust.
8:36PM: A ref is backstage telling Stroman that he has the night off. The ref gets scared off by Stroman who stands his ground.
8:36PM: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs Enzo Amore and Big Cass
Gallows and Anderson were scheduled to face Golden Truth, but since they have been attacked, Gallows and Anderson have been left high and dry. Because of that, they are calling any team from back there. Enzo and Cass answer the call.
Enzo gets beat up for a long time then hot tags Cass in against Anderson. He hits an Empire Elbow then a Big Boot. Enzo gets tagged in. Gallows gets big booted out of the ring. Enzo goes for something but Anderson reverses by throwing Enzo into the corner then pinning him.
8:51PM: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson def. Enzo Amore and Big Cass
8:58PM: It’s time for another instalment of MizTV. The first MizTV on RAW in a long time. As The Miz was going through the usual introduction, Dean Ambrose rudely cuts him off. Before he even gets introduced, Dean is on the set of MizTV. Dean banters with the crowd and The Miz does not enjoy it. Both wrestlers exchange decent promos, then Maryse says the old saying of “The Championship doesn’t make the man, the man makes the championship”. After that, Dean attacks Miz. Maryse throws a mic to Dean’s back which stuns him. Miz tries for a Skull Crushing Final but Dean tries to reverse it into a Dirty Deeds. When he tries for the move, Miz escapes. The segment overall was very good.
9:08PM: We go backstage and see that Braun Stroman has beaten up Kalisto. Big Show blindsides Braun and says “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size!”. That ends the segment.
9:13PM: TJ Perkins vs Jack Gallagher
We got some Cruiserweight action now! TJ Perkins is facing Jack Gallagher. Before the match starts, they introduce Neville to ringside. Austin Aries also comes out but he comes out with a mic. He invited himself to ringside. As usual in this match Jack Gallagher does his Mary Poppins spot with the umbrella diving to the outside.
As this match was underway Neville attacked Austin Aries at ringside. As the ref was shouting at Neville, TJP kicks the middle rope into Gallaghers head then hits the Detonation kick for the win.
9:29PM: TJ Perkins def Jack Gallagher
9:37PM: Backstage The Hardys are being interviewed. Sheamus and Cesaro walk into the frame and say that they welcome them to WWE. Cesaro also mentions his 1-on-1 match with Matt later.
9:44PM: Sasha Banks vs Alexa Bliss vs Mickie James vs Nia Jax (#1 Contenders Match)
We need to crown the new #1 contender for the RAW Women’s Championship now that RAW has gotten some new arrivals via the Superstar Shakeup. This match had lots of great spots. When we came back from the break, Nia was slamming people on top of other people, stacking them like pancakes. Sasha Banks tried for a sleeper on Nia, but Jax slammed her down brutally instead. For quite some time in this match Nia was cleaning house. It came to a stop when Mickie James put Jax into an armbar. But Jax escaped it and continued her attack. She charged at Banks and James in the corner, but both dodged and she hit the post. Alexa comes in and throws Banks out of the ring, and starts fighting with Mickie James.
James calls for a move but Sasha comes in and interrupts it. Banks hits the double knees on Bliss and goes for the pin, but Jax pulls her out of the ring during the pin. The ring is now just Alexa and Banks. Alexa gets put in the Bank Statement. Mickie James interrupts it. The two trade punches. The two start trading blows on the top rope. Jax comes in and Samoa Drops Banks. Bliss kicks Nia out of the ring and pins Banks instead. Alexa Bliss wins the match and becomes new #1 contender.
10:02PM: Alex Bliss def. Sasha Banks, Mickie James and Nia Jax to become new RAW Women’s Championship #1 Contender
10:08PM: Curt Hawkins vs Finn Balor
Curt Hawkins is in the ring and does another open challenge. Finn Balor answers his challenge. As you expect, Finn Balor wins in under a minute.
10:12PM: Finn Balor def. Curt Hawkins
10:24PM: Chris Jericho gets interviewed backstage and Bray Wyatt cuts a promo about his “House of Horrors” match.
10:32PM: We see Alicia Fox showing Dana Brooke a photo of when the powder got on her during 205 Live. Emma comes into shot and says that Dana had been joking about that all day. Alicia gets offended and says “I don’t want to be your friend anymore”. Ouch.
10:33PM: Cesaro vs Jeff Hardy
This 1-on-1 match is to hype up the tag title match at the Payback PPV, where Sheamus and Cesaro will face The Hardy Boyz. Jeff Hardy tried to go to the top rope during this match but he ate an Uppercut instead. Jeff Hardy throws Cesaros legs onto the top rope then dropkicks him to the outside. Jeff reverses something with a Twist of Fate, then hits Cesaro with a Swanton Bomb for the win.
10:47PM: Jeff Hardy def. Cesaro
10:50PM: A medical report was being delivered from backstage but the reporter gets interrupted by Heath Slater and Rhyno. Slater cutting a promo, but he stops in fear when Stroman walks by him.
10:57PM: Braun Stroman vs Big Show
It’s time for our main event of the evening, Stroman versus Big Show. As Show is making his entrance, Stroman charges at him and they brawl outside the ring before the match even starts. Big Show delivers a nice slam to Stroman when they get back into the ring. He tries for a chokeslam but Stroman reverses. Braun Stroman jumps off the top rope but gets hit by a Chokeslam. Stroman kicks out. Stroman climbs to the top rope, but Big Show goes to the top rope and tries for a Superplex. Stroman reverses. Stroman jumps off the rope again but this time Big Show hits him with a Knockout punch. Stroman kicks out again. They both go to the top rope again. Stroman hits a Superplex and the ring breaks. The match never ends, but Braun celebrates as Medical Staff attend to Big Show.
11:13PM: Braun Stroman vs Big Show ends in a tie.
That ends the show! Thanks for reading!

Braun Strowman’s callous and horrific attack last week on Roman Reigns was one of the most destructive acts in the history of Monday Night Raw. After severely injuring The Big Dog in that onslaught, what’s next for The Monster Among Men?
Is Braun Strowman unstoppable?
Has Elias Samson “drifted” to Raw?
Is Nia Jax in line for a Raw Women’s Title opportunity?
Which Raw newcomers will “shake up” Team Red the most?
Will Seth Rollins and Samoa Joe settle their unfinished business?
WWE Raw GM & Hall of Famer, Kurt Angle recently spoke to Washington’s Top News and covered many subjects. Here are some highlights from the interview:
How The Milk Truck Was One Of The Best Moments Of His Career:
“It just said a thousand words without having to say anything,” Angle said. “It was a spinoff of Austin’s beer truck years prior. It really worked out to my favor and it really helped my character a lot. … That milk truck in Sacramento, California, was probably the best moment I had, including the wrestling.”
Vince McMahon wanting him to debut as a heel:
“I disagreed with him. I told him, ‘It’s not gonna work, I won a gold medal [with] a broken freakin’ neck! People are gonna love me!’ He said, ‘No, they’re gonna hate your guts.’ He was right.”
His Thoughts On Roman Reigns:
“I love him. The issue with Roman is he was utilized and pushed way too fast. When you skip the U.S. Title, Intercontinental Title, the King of the Ring and go right to the top, fans don’t like that. … Half the fans love him; half the fans hate him. Same with [John] Cena. When Cena came in, Vince pushed the hell out of him and fans were like, ‘Gosh, dang. This guy’s invincible. I hate him!’ … If Vince waits it out a bit, fans will start to accept [Roman Reigns], and if they don’t, then turn him heel.”
His Hall of Fame Speech:
“I had a lot of fun with it,” Angle said. “In recent years, a lot of the speeches were pretty serious [and] they wanted a different flavor this year. They wanted old-school Kurt Angle, so they asked me if I had any ideas and I came up with that little bit of entertainment. … I actually requested the milk truck that I could drive into the arena! But [WWE Chairman] Vince McMahon said it was a little bit too much.”

Roman Reigns was recently interviewed by Chris Jericho on the “Talk is Jericho” Podcast, and spoke on several subjects. One subject was how the name Roman Reigns came to be.
Here’s what Roman had to say:
“I knew I wanted Roman. I liked Roman. I wanted Roman only and they were like, ‘no, you need a last name’. And there’s actually another guy in FCW by the name of Calvin Raines. He spelled it like ‘rain’, like a ‘raindrop’. And they, I believe, released him and sorry, brother. He’s a good man, a real nice brother. Sorry. Roman Raines sounded good to me, so they were like, ‘alright, give me four or five different names’ and they were like, ‘okay, we’ll go with like’… I was going through it and Corey Graves, he was down in FCW, still working at that time, he’s actually one of my good buddies and our families are like really good friends. He told me, he was like, ‘hey, I heard you saying ‘Roman Raines’. What if you spelled it like, ‘reigns’, like a king reigns.’ And I was like, ‘whoa, I like that.’ And there you go. And total heel name too!”
During tonight’s WWE Raw broadcast, Roman Reigns suffered a vicious attack from Braun Strowman which saw him being thrown against a few walls, off a shipping dock while strapped into a gurney, and flipped while inside an ambulance… That’s right, you read that right. Braun went into beast mode today,
WWE has announced that Roman Reigns has suffered “internal injuries, cracked ribs, and a possible separated shoulder.”

It’s unknown at this time if Roman Reigns is expecting to have some time off.
We’ll have more once available.
Former WWE talent Bubba Ray took to twitter during Raw and commented on how Roman Reigns handled the post-WrestleMania audience. Here is a video from the segment:
Here’s Bubba’s tweets:
A fan would respond to the tweet instigating Bubba replying to him:
Following Roman Reigns win over the Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, he took to twitter to comment on his victory.
Roman was also interviewed by Jonathan Coachman from ESPN after the PPV and calls his win ‘bittersweet.’
Here’s what he had to say:
“To be honest with you Coach, you know, it’s bittersweet. It almost feels like a loss, you know what I mean? Because, I’ve said this for the past three or four weeks, I’ve got nothing but respect for the Undertaker. If you’ve been a part of this business, and you know, everybody’s got respect for that man. But at the end of the day you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. As a young man, as a family man, as a provider, I’ve got to go out there and fight for mine, and that’s what I did tonight”

Roman Reigns took to twitter to hype his match with the Undertaker at WrestleMania 33.
Shane McMahon would also tweet about his match with Shane McMahon.
