Despite being advertised to appear on Smackdown Live last night, WWE superstar Rusev wasn’t at the show to “address Shane McMahon” and not receiving a WWE Championship match as he requested.
Rusev posted the following on Twitter saying that he attended the NHL Western Conference Finals game three between the Anaheim Ducks & Nashville Predators instead.
As reported, WWE talent Rusev was out recovering from a shoulder surgery he underwent to correct a nagging problem last month. Since his departure Rusev was moved to Smackdown Live along with his real-life wife Lana.
Rusev released a video two weeks ago claiming that the only way he would return to WWE TV would be if Shane McMahon gave him a WWE Championship opportunity. That obviously didn’t pan through, so Rusev released the following video announcing that he will be making a WWE TV return next week on Smackdown Live.
As reported, Rusev is expected to be out of action as he is suffering from problems with his shoulder. Based on reports Rusev has already undergone surgery earlier in the month with a two month return timeline. This will take him out of WrestleMania with a return sometime in May.
Rusev went to twitter and commented after Big Show beat Titus O’Neil on Raw after three chokeslams joking that Titus may now need surgery. As you may recall Big Show also beat Rusev at WWE Fastlane in a similar fashion.
Here’s what he had to say:
Based on reports, WWE superstar Rusev is set to undergo Shoulder Surgery which would take him off WWE TV for a few weeks and potentially have him miss WrestleMania 33.
Big Show reportedly answered a fans questions during a autograph signing where the fan asked for some input on the Fastlane match against Rusev where Big Show picked up the victory after two choke slams and a WMD.
The fan asked:
Why you did Rusev like that [at Fastlane PPV]?
Big Show responded:
He’s having shoulder surgery and I put him over strong years ago.
