One Reason Why Jinder Mahal Is The New #1 Contender For The WWE Championship

During last night’s WWE Smackdown Live broadcast, Jinder Mahal won the six-pack challenge to become the new #1 contender for the WWE Championship at Backlash. As you would expect, many fans were baffled by this, especially since Jinder gave Finn a concussion the week prior to Finn Balor.

Based on reports from SportsKeeda, one of the reasons why Jinder was provided this opportunity is due to the fact that WWE is looking to expand more in India. India is said to be a very “hungry” market for the product and is willing to take what WWE provides. WWE has also hired former Walt Disney India employee Sheetesh Srivastava as their GM for VP of WWE offices in India.

The push for Jinder is a timely one as WWE has expanded their WWE Shop to India, and is expected to push merchandise consisting of Jinder Mahal’s and the Bollywood Boyz.

More as we get it.

WWE Championship Title Change At Wrestlemania

2017 Royal Rumble winner, and now your new WWE Champion, it’s Randy Orton.

At Wrestlemania tonight Randy Orton defeated Bray Wyatt and took his WWE Championship. The match was around 10 minutes and had weird imagery of bugs projected on the apron during the match. It was interesting, to say the least.

More matches are to come tonight, full coverage can be found here.

WWE Changes Title Name

During tonight’s Raw broadcast, Seth Rollins had a “Rollins Report” segment where Dean interrupted. A challenge for the WWE title was made which Dean accepted. WWE has now confirmed that next week on Raw, Dean Ambrose will put the WWE Title on the line against Seth Rollins.

Ambrose Being Referred To As WWE Champion – No Longer World Heavyweight Champion

During Monday’s Raw broadcast, it’s interesting to note that WWE Announcers, graphics and talents were identifying Dean Ambrose as the WWE Champion, and no longer the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

This has led to speculations that WWE will be returning a second Championship following the brand split on July 19th and possibly be calling it the World Heavyweight Championship. During the last Brand Extension the champions were the WWE Champion and World Heavyweight Champion.
