As we saw, WWE ran the “superstar shake-up” this year between Raw and Smackdown which was WWE’s version of the Draft. The reason WWE was no longer using the term “draft” was because Vince McMahon wanted to change it up.
Vince is notorious for changing his mind on certain words. For example, Vince has dropped such words as “title” or “shot” and requested no one to use those words on WWE programming, and even went as far as to remove the numbers from WrestleMania as it made it sound “too old.”
At this time the next WWE Superstar shake-up, or whatever Vince will call it at that time, is expected to be done after Summerslam.
It was recently reported that WWE would be keeping the women’s division on both rosters for the upcoming brand extension, despite original plans to keep the WWE Women’s Champion on one brand.
In regards to WWE NXT and the brand extension, we originally noted that as many as 6 NXT Superstars were being looked at for the WWE Draft but now we’re hearing there could be as many as 10-12 NXT stars called up for the main roster.
Carmella, Nia Jax and Bayley are reportedly in talks of being called up to the main roster soon.
On a special edition of Wrestle Addict Live, the boys discuss the upcoming brand split that was made official and the release of Cody Rhodes.
